So, i play(regularly) a level 61 pally in the Illidan PvP realm.

I have just came off being ganked probably about 6-8 times in an hour.

It makes me think of a few questions

1. Why choose a PvP server, if the ONLY difference is you can gank people, but get ganked to hell by random 80's.
2. Why do so many new WoW players "insist" that PvP realms are the way to go, are they that great? I have many friends who won't play on PvE realms(even though they havn't played yet)
3. Is the wait to 80 to gank others worth dying in the hundreds in places like hellfire pennusilua.
4.Will it ever get better?

So far my experience in outland has been, well... a pain in the ***. I want to like pvp realms, but i am so sick of level 80's just dropping out of nowhere JUST to kill me while i quest.

I'm hoping that due to the fact the HP is a bit lower in level(i guess the "starting zone" of outland) that this is where its the worst. I hope thats true, as i can barely finish quests(and have yet to finish a single kill quest) without being ganked by 80's 2-3 times.

I know that its "what i signed up for" i just want to know if itever gets better, because if it doesn't i'm on the first boat to a good PvE realm.

Wow....Quest with guild mates or friends so you can fend off horde who try to gank you. I usually quest alone but i still have no problem killing 2 gankers on my ret pally. And if its a high lvl horde I (and you should) just bubble hearth. Macro that and love it.....

A long time ago when my ret paladin was lvl 42 in Tanaris I killed a 45 undead rogue and a 47 tuaren warrior who tried to gank me.... Kicked their asses maaayyun.

Besides Ret pallies are freaking beast. I never die in BG's and I always get like top 10 damage domes in my bracket.

And zach what is your Paladin's IGN i wanna look it up on the armory



What i wrote above was kinda offtopic( just noticed)

1. To me when i started questing in contested areas my PvP skills went up by a lot just by killing or defending my self from horde
2. They are probably noob(ignorant) and think PvE is all about killing NPC's and think PvP is the way to go
3. Either lvl fast or get better gear so you can defend yourself
4. No. It has been like this forever and i doubt it will change.

Because you can do the same once you reach max level. :P

My gear is fine, i have no problem(except some DK's) at my level, i said in my OP that my problem stems from level 80's. The ones that can 3 shot you, and i know i can bubble hearth,however its not really an option a lot of the times considering the amount of times this happens.
6-8 times in an hour, bubble hearth saves you once. Also not going to help when its an 80 on a flying mount. they drop out of nowhere and kill you, not usually enough time to bubble unless i'm lucky.

Also this is outland, not azeroth. Flying mounts make a HUGE difference. Its a lot harder to defend youself when you can't see the 80 coming. With the flying mounts its hard to make that comparison

Also a problem that stems is the main town on helfire penninsula is constantly raided by horde, bubble hearth isn't going to help there.


also, once again, i face 80s most of the time i'm ganked, 19 levels is too big a difference(even being a ret pally) to win.
Go to outland. i got ganked probably twice in azeroth(by level 80's when a friend wouldn't let me hearth.) Outland is VERY different.

Also your suggestion for 3 is sorta moot..
Leveling faster is an option, however the problem with being ganked is it stops my leveling for a good 20-50 seconds. if honor hold is being raided its near impossible to level. HH can be raided with 2 80's as well. Better gear is well... aside from instances, my gear is very good for this level. The greens/blues i wear are better then some Azeroth purples.
Yea, i said that, i know it. Not really the direction i had for this thread.

Then you know exactly well that pvp server may not be for you.
Either enjoy the thrills, or go to PVE server. That's what PVE server was made for.

i kill every ally with my 80 dk now as wrath for the average 6-7 times killed/day back when i lvled my warr, and up to 15/hour on quel'danas

I quit my pvp realm after not being able to get to 40 due to gankers in STV.

I thought to myself, and the only reason I wanted to join a pvp server was so I could raid towns. You can do that in pve servers too, plenty of pvp still happens, but it just doesn't interrupt your leveling.

1. There is no reason to choose a PVP server other than the fact that you can gank people whenever.
2. Because most WoW players or people that insist that PVP servers are the way to go and anyone who thinks otherwise is a n00b are usually 10 year olds who get a huge e-ego rush when they kill someone 50 levels lower than them.
3. If the only reason you want to get to 80 is to start ganking other lower levels, then again, this post is wasted on you.

From the short time I played this game on official server's and "other" The only reason I picked PvP was just for the "Kill anyone on the other side anywhere" aspect. Although I HIGHLY prefer PvE due to me loving to kill bosses, etc instead of other players...

That and I had nerdy fantasies of having huge fights on some random map.
