Highly doubted that she is dead. This arc concerns the decline of the last generation. None of Naruto's crew (as in his friends) will kick the bucket as far as I'm concerned.

Unless there were dragon ballz in the world of naruto or if Tsunade give up her life to save her.

Compare Hinata's "death scene" with Jiraiya's or even Kakashi's. Unless Kishimoto has suddenly developed a Gantz-like level of indiscriminate slaughter, she's still alive.

Secondly.. As Cereal said, Naruto is about the sucession of generations, people from the original 9 Genin have Plot Armor. A popular character like Hinata isn't going to give a badass speech, confess her love, and then die instantly in 3 hits. It's a shonen manga, people can survive getting sliced in half.

Yes yes I've thought about all this but as far as we know she's dead. They're good at the whole feign death thing in these mangas though.

I sense the manga coming to an end soon.
