I got my hands on a PS2 recently and I wanted to try out the famous FF series and other RPGs. Starting from FFXII, so my question is should I buy the normal version or *cough a undub version from the almighty internet? Which version would make the story line better, which one has more emotion?

The Japanese voices are definitely better, and the US/EU versions should come with both choices.
Atleast the EU version did.

My advice? Don't start with XII.

get the normal version, a dubbed one just isnt as good.. i dont like when the mouths moves like they are miming and fails..

Oh sorry, I meant FFX, playing it right now.

My orders are

FFX,FXII,KH,KH2 maybe dragon quest?

You can't play undubs without a modded PS2.

Also, I don't see why people hate dubs so much.

Sound quality for the game sucks either way. Sounds like they recorded the voices in the back alley.

ah nice. ffx was the last final fantasy i really enjoyed. those aeon summons look freakin sexy =p

heres a video showing all summons - dont watch if u dont want any spoilers =p

I would suggest trying the ones before FF10 since the PS2 is retro-compatible. The newer Final Fanatasies aren't all that great.
