Darkfall - all else fail
Why the hell does MMORPG forum does not have a section on the best mmorpg currently out there? Darkfall.
In case no one know what it is - it is a sanbox-style mmorpg (like eve online but on the ground), with full loot, skill based (not level based) system and much more. wait wait... i remember hearing about darkfall about a year and a half ago. and i remember the hype.
what actually happened to that game? also why are you saying its crap? did it not turn out like everyone expected?

They opened pre-orders one day before the game was released, nobody could preorder it because the servers couldn't handle the number of people, some people were getting charged but not getting an account, some people weren't getting charged and getting an account. The server was up for one day, within 5 hours, glitches were abused which allowed guilds to build cities almost right away, the servers went down for two days due to sync issues and they closed the forums during this time. Worst. Launch. Ever. And even after that, the combat is blocky, the game is horrifically ugly, animations look horrible, the skill effects are probably some of the worst I have seen.

No public beta and claiming the servers can only hold 10,000 players at max, thus the limited release.
for a game 6years in development, its worse than DIY 2D MMOs, aka player worlds.
