I second this. It must be in your diet. If you don't notice any changes, you either need to move up the weights or change your routine. Take a break once in a while, as well. Eat more during the evening to gain fat, this way when you work out you gain more muscle.

No dont listen to them, protein does work. If you really wanna get buff fast. After your workout, drink your protein shake. Dont smoke if you do. Eat if possible. Go home and sleep! Very important to do that. And only do free weights, anything else would just gimp your strength

You need more calories. Alot more. You can't work out when you're thin, as there's no fat to convert into muscle. What you need to do is just pack down MINIMUM 3000 calories a day. Have a meal? Add a double cheeseburger? Having a sandwich? Add peanut butter.
Up your bodyfat percentage slightly if you're very thin and you'll have more energy, which will lead to more progress. So yes, those protein shakes will help, as they have alot of calories. Also, important tip to bodybuilding. I'll just quote it, you'll get the jist of it. "If every bodybuilder in the world was to add an extra two days of rest between workouts, there would be a lot more muscle in the world within weeks." Take this into account. Don't listen to any of these guys! ;o Be like me, wait until they've perfected the proper procedure to exchange your flabby muscles for strong bulbous ones. All you have to do then is case a few bodybuilders and wait 'til one of em croaks.

Sounds like your skinny. Just run. It's the lean man's sport. You'll probably be good at it and you'll get core strength. If you're looking to fight somebody, then even if you just run and don't get that buff, you can hit them then run away really fast.

Aiite' read through most of teh replies but i cbf quoting them.
Anyways, 45KG maybe might be a little much for my size. But I reckon working up -> stunning your growth is a myth. Anyways, I eat enough, i eat alot. I eat as much as my friend whose about 180cm/weighs around 70kg, but i don't get any fatter. Different metabolism probably. Umm, I use protein WITH my meals (I'm not skipping meals for protein) -> so im using it for the extra not for whats actually needed. When i said buff, i didn't say i wanted to end up with biceps up my mouth, just bigger.

Lol you're too young, just do bodyweights exercise(I heard Gymnasts do no weights at all, and they're huge o.o).
Bench pressing WILL mess up your shoulder if you do it for a while, this is no myth. My uncle was an aspired body builder, he started lifting weights at around 14. he's in his late 20s now and he's like an old man. His shoulder is messed up, the doctor said it was from years of bench pressing. And his knee is the same(from squats i guess). If you have high metabolism then it just make "getting big" that much harder...might as well wait till it slow down. |

Yeah bench press is very important for strength training. And don't drink your protein shake during a meal, drink it after working out, thats when your body needs rest to repair. It'll be most effective after a workout trust me.
