@drawnzer54: 3D Street fighter = epic fail

Have you learnt nothing from the EX games or the pathetic mortal kombat games that are spat at us every year these days.
2D fighters need to stay 2d.
Then what's the point of any new Street Fighters?

The fact that in 2009, Street Fighter 4 is the furthest that the series has come since Street Fighter 2 (Where it picked up legendary status), is sad.

This is some amazing news. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is hard enough to find on PS2! I heard that shit sells for $60+ in value. Now I can have it on my PS3 hard drive? YES. This will be the #1 download.

I didn't say anything was wrong, quite the opposite. Drawnzer's saying it should've been 3d, and I'm saying, its a good thing it isn't. SF4 is perfect the way it is. If it had been 3d, it would've sucked.

The fact that street fighter 4 has improved, while sticking to its roots, is an achievement. They went 3d with the EX games, and they were horrible. The last good mortal kombat was ultimate mortal kombat. The 3d Street Fighters and Mortal kombats pretty much just tried to add side stepping, (and in the case of MK, weapons they pull out of their ***), which makes a game where you throw projectiles each other and fairly simple combos, retarded.

Tekken moved to 3d well (in terms of gameplay, i know the graphics were always 3d, but gameplay wasn't 3d till tekken 3) as along with side stepping, it created genuinely cool moves to counter side stepping (and a whole lot of counters in general).

Games that started out 2d, got famous in 2d, has a fanbase as a 2d game, needs to stay 2d. They can improve the fluidity of the combat (like SF4 did), but the 3d moves just end up sucking.

Which reminds me, KOF: Maximum Impact sucked balls...

It only cost $60+ because only so few MvC2 was made for ps2 (roughly 400,000 IIRC).I bought the game used for 38 around 5 years ago.
