It's for home work. I'm trying to find out the different names of pacific substances that contain Carbon, but I'm having a hard time trying to find that on the internet, since I don't know how to google it right or use wikipedia. I need to find the words so I can use one letter from each of them to spell a word. But I figured I could try skipping that part and just find out the word.

I'm looking for the name or term for "the study of the substances-how they form, their characteristics, and how they react with other substances."

any living thing has carbon? i think msot everything does cuz of its electron pproperty.
