refresh my memory, there was a game where you roamed around the countryside collecting men and doing deeds for kings, and every now and then you would get into a battle or a castle seige and you would be thrown into the first person view and you got to ride a horse and smash people in the face with swords...

it was the most addictive thing i have ever played and now i want it again, but i can't remember the name.

Sounds like Mount and Blade to me. Never played it though.

it's a single player pc game, well worth a try. you'll be hooked trust me.

An amazing game. The modding community has also spit out beautiful total conversions/patches so it's well worth supporting the developers.
