What I usually do is to outpace an asura and force him to use skills in advance to try "hitting me" when I'm decoying movements. Having annoying skills like RX-78 helps too, surprisingly, as decoys, the main aim being you want the asuras to attack or run away from the rx.
In the case of the lvl 45 skill I have managed to negate it before with my soultaker several times with the cheap level 40 instant skill.(Soultakers are cheap I admit and I maxed out ghost step, even cheaper)
If you have a good idea of the circular range around the asura, you can practically dodge all the attacks including the lvl 45 balls, taking advantage of their sluggish movements.
Additionally to note, the lvl 45 balls of doom is only 350 pixel effect(175 pixel up and down), I think. This as compared to multi headshot which has 660 pixel effect (330 up and down)is clearly showing how outmatched in range it really is. Well this is in the case for rangers though.
If the opponent plays safe and stays within the vertical axis of the asuras when your balls have been recharged, you kinda tend to try and rush things and get as near to the opponent as possible to unleash it. This is when faster classes like Spitfires can take advantage and retreat + snipe (another imba and super gay skill- I reeeeeaaallllyyyy hope they nerf this bullcrap skill)
I'm
nit picking here on potentially hazardous classes but yeah if it were against WMs, Berserkers, various Fighter classes and even Priest classes, I do believe that asuras are insanely good against them.
Then again, not many players know how to act while in the heat of pvp, tending to go with the flow. I usually write notes on papers relating to how other players counterattack and stuff since I'm pretty much a rookie pvper.
Anyways most good asuras I see in pvp tend to be those with legacy sets and really high move speed ops, in addition to accessories that are like... plus 7 or higher. Magic is the bane of asuras, even the steely armor won't help.
And the thing to say you have to melee asuras...well that's only if the opponent is a pure melee class. I don't think elementalists can melee very well... can they?
Due to the fact that you need to invest in rather expensive equips (weapons are cheap) to be effective is the factor putting me off from making an asura in the beginning. Lack of continuous flashy combos as well, since asuras are rather boring to take a video of.

Only Arad players can come up with weird stuff like this
