Default Is this a decent offer?

At the moment I cant afford a big budget game engine, so for the moment I am using realm crafter to make my game.

If I were to charge £2.50/$3.78/euro 2.78 monthly to get the funds for a big budet game engine then when the new version is done transfer all data from the old to new and give the people who subscribed a 6 months free.

Do you think this is a good offer?

It depends. Is your game complete? Is it good?

no the game is not complete yet, I might have a demo in a month or 2 months.

The big budget engine I am hoping to get is the hero engine which is also being used to make the star wars kotor mmo game.

I actually do not believe many if any would pay. RealmCrafter is an iffy game engine, but for people to even be willing to pay they need 1 thing, a credit card. In most cases if someone has a credit card they would be more compelled to pay for a game that offers more content and has a track record. What I would suggest is a item mall/micro transactions. Anything else unless you have very professional graphic designers is not going to cut it.

How else could I make some money from the game because the item mall/micro transactions sounds like a good idea but the game may not make enough to buy the big game engine im after.

I know I might get some money from advertising on the website (when online) but some other ideas would be great.

all ideas welcome

What "big game engine" are you after, exactly? Please note that the best game engine in the world (though it is almost impossible to rank such a thing) will not make your game easier to create, or otherwise "better" in any aspect. Also, upon reading your post again, I noticed you said:

I'm going to assume your game is of the ORPG genre. If so, your player data will most likely be stored in a database. Getting a new game engine is irrelevant; that is, of course, unless you completely recreate the entire game with it, which is silly.

the game engine that I am after is the hero engine (http://www.heroengine.com/).

I do plan on recreating the game with the new engine, But wth most of the game almost done using programs such as 3ds max etc. It will lake a lot less time to recreate the game as all we need to do is upgrade the models made.
