These " L00k I can p0st articles from yah00 and cnn" are annoying. They usually last at most two pages and theres really nothing to intense to discuss about. I just suggest a "Latest News" section or something to divide the two sections.

Yeah maybe a space just for game news and a space for all the other crap news people think is so important they have to post it.

No. These kind of threads are practically the only ones where you can discuss something. The rest of the threads in General section are mostly flame war or wannabe flame war threads.

" Aliens found on the Moon" then Discuss are pointless. What is there discuss besides saying Wow, Cool, or lulz. If people could do " Aliens found on the Moon" -Article- What would you have done if this alien was in your backyard? Or something along those lines. PS I kind of contradicted myself because I have fallen victim of this a few times.

We have discussed this before. Having a section for news would gear us farther away from a gaming site and more towards a general forum. The influx of news related threads is not really that great to warrant an entire section for it.
We have also started to begin coming down harder on people who posts articles that can't be commented on or have no discussion value. We are also trying to get OP's to actually comment on their own articles rather than cut and paste. |
