Lightbulb R.U.N.E-an EPIC online TPS/Hack and slash

Howdy people!most of you probably don't know me because i'm not that active in here(even though i signed up some time ago), but i've been working on this game which will be called R.U.N.E, and like the forum says, i need someone to help me turn it into reality. So far i only have some stuff on paper, so i'll just post em here. Please read the WHOLE post and tell me if you're interested or if it's doable(is that a word?xD). Ok, so in short it's a game similar to S4, where players use different weapons to fight eachother in arenas. Now here's the twist. You buy the weapon from the shop as a metal FRAME, with no special powers or anything, and you use RUNES that you gain from drops and bossses(yep, it will have a free-roam/mision mode as well) to transform your ordinary weapon into EPIC PWNAGE TOOL!!!xD..and here's the long version:





-R.U.N.E-


Controls:
W-move forward. Double tap to run forward
A -move left. Double tap to dash to the left
S -move backward. Double tap to dash backwards.
D -move right. Double tap to dash to the right
F - Grab. Can be used to grab opponents or items from the ground.
SPACE -jump. Hold for charged jump, tap twice for double jump or tap again next to a wall for a wall jump.
E -block. Hold to block. Consumes Block gauge when used for long periods against an attacking blade.
TAB -Shows Score. Only usable when dueling.
R -Reload(Although the ammunition is limitless, each ranged weapon has clip size)
T -Skill chart/Combo list.
M -Show map.
CTRL -Crouch. Tap ctrl while holding W/A/S/D for a barrel roll in that direction.
Q -Rune attack. Use this only when Rune gauge is filled. Different runes have different attacks. Consumes Rune gauge. Can Only be used to Start a combo.
SHIFT -Lock on. Can be used to lock camera when in the air.It locks the camera onto the enemy. It can also be used on the ground, but it's not 100 % accurate, and ranged shooting using Shift is not recommended for Pros
1/2-Change weapon.
Left Mouse Button – Primary Attack. Can be charged up by holding the button. Can be used to start a combo or in one.
Right Mouse Button – Secondary Attack. Can be charged up by holding the button. Can be used to start a combo or in one.
I -Open up Inventory. Only usable in Free roam modea.
ESC -Open Menu.



Classes

In R.U.N.E the Weapon Defines the class, not the other way around. But nevertheless, There are 5 main Weapon/Class groups which branch into additional 3 classes(Although they are all available from the start)
1.Brawler. Branches into G-Brawler, Speed Edge and Magi-Basher
2.Blader. Branches into Buster Blader, Double Blader and Scythe Cleaver
3.Caster. Branches into Rune Master, Alchemist and Savior
4.Shooter. Branches into Heavy Gunner, Gunslinger and Rune Archer
5.Summoner. Branches into Master Summoner, Technician and Lycantrope






Stat System

300 health(unchangeable by Classes). Stats are HP/RG/BG/ATK/DEF/SPD. They AREN'T visible to the player but DO affect the HP/RG/BG/ATK/DEF/SPD. Each player starts off the same. Up until lvl 10 you can use free try-out weapons of all types and all stats will get a +1 per lvl up. At lvl 10 you start gaining stats and skills depending on the weapon equipped during lvl-up.
Even 1 point will effect your performance greatly, so using all-weapons at the same time is impossible. You also have a cap of 100 skill points to use and each skill takes 1 or more points to upgrade. To max a weapon tree you need 40 points, which means u can max only 2 weapon trees.

Pressure System

This system allows a player to Defend against incoming attacks using the Block Key(E).The player has to be facing the attacker or at least the attacking has to be in the defender's sight line as the block only works for frontal attacks and side attacks. And Here comes the good part. The attacker can choose to Pressure the Defending Player by holding down his attack key(LMC or RMC) so that the attack is still going. But, the defending player can also keep his Block Key Pressed and so the pressure arises, but the Block Gauge gets drained by this(the Defending Player's gauge gets drained, not the attacker's). If the Block gauge gets drained completely, the attacking player will penetrate the Defending Player's defense and damage him with 120% of the basic attack(since its close range after all).Also while the Pressure Is going on, either player may dodge to get out of the Pressure and then attack again. If the Defending Player's Block gauge is not drained he may keep his E button pressed so that following incoming attacks are blocked also. During the pressure sequence however, The defending Player Can attack, but during the attack his block will be canceled and then 1 of 2 things can happen:
1.The attacking player keeps his attack button on and they BOTH get damaged by 120% of the base attack of the incoming attack.
2.The attacking player Presses his Block key and cancels his attack, in which case nobody gets damaged and the tide is turned-Defending Player is Pressuring on Attack, and Attacking Player is Defending.
Note that the Block key CAN be held together with attack key(in the attacker's case) so that when the other player attacks, the Attacking Player's attack automatically gets canceled and he Defends against the incoming attack. By doing this, the Block gauge gets drained normally.


Combo System

The Combo System. A road different from normal mmo's. Every skill you have and use, will be performed with the combination of Mouse clicks and WASD clicks. Here's only a portion of the combinations:
1.Left mouse click + Right Mouse Click
2.Right Mouse Click + Left Mouse Click
3.W + Left Mouse Click
4.W + Right Mouse Click
5.Left Mouse Click + Left Mouse Click
As you can see the combinations are endless and take much more skill to use then pressing a key from 1 to 0.Performing these skills doesn't cost anything for the Mellee classes( G-Brawler, Speed Edge,Buster Blader, Double Blader, Scythe Cleaver, Cover Op. And also Heavy Gunner and Sniper), although SOME magic based skills DO use up Rune power(like the Rune Attack(Q default), the Scythe Cleaver's Moon strike or some others), and also Gun using Classes use up Ammo for their attacks which in most cases is Rune Powered(Note this does not use up the Rune gauge but uses up the ammo, and although the ammo is limit on clips(say 10 bullets per clip) the Clips are unlimited). And the Shooting based Classes can perform Combos as well, Some long ranged and some close ranged.
Also there is the Air Combo System. These combos are performed while Mid air and while performed the SHIFT key has to be pressed, or else the attack would MISS in most cases. Also there is the air battle, which occurs when both players are airborne. When you are fighting someone in mid-air, you will descend slowly, and a longer battle in the air is possible. You can even use the opponent to propel yourself upwards, by grabbing him and kicking off him.



Mastery System

Another great thing is the mastery system. There are 3 passive skills to master:
-Acrobatics mastery
-Martial Arts mastery
-Weapon Mastery
All of the above influence one's character. Like Acrobatics influence the ability to jump, wall jump, wall run etc. Martial arts will affect the hand to hand combat(an important element when using some skills) and Weapon Mastery will result in better and stronger skills. All of these 3 passive skills will be obtained by the player in the tutorial and will increase in level as the Player uses them. For instance, if you use a lot of jumping and running and wall jumping, your Acrobatics mastery will increase and so on and so forth.



Rune System


Another great thing in this game is the Rune System. Special meteor fragments called runes will empower your weapon and give it special abilities. All the weapon bases are the same-Metal Frame. But when that Frame is infused with a Rune, something truly magnificent happens. Aside from the new powers the weapon gains, the shape and size, and even color are changed. There are over 20 Runes in total. Each with Special power and Skills that come with it....The choice is yours.
Runes:
Venom Rune, Jagged Rune, Golem Rune, Speed Rune, 6 elemental runes(and i DO mean 6), Shadow Rune, Rune of Life, Rune of the Wild(Lycantrope specifically), Tech Rune, Crimson Rune, Philosopher's Rune(Alchemist only), Gear Rune, Quicksilver Rune...
And as you see, the runes are a very important part of the game, and 1 rune added to the game means 15 new weapons....
Equipment

In R.U.N.E you won't see any Metal Armour or Kevlar. The new Rune technology allowed the development of sleek, thin armor, with the shape of modern clothes. Even a new fashion trend began with it. There are different clothes that will make you look good and protect you at the same time.




Weapons

There are numerous Weapons in R.U.N.E, and they are split into 4 main groups:
1.Knuckles-Various types of knuckles are in this group.
2.Blades and staffs-The swords, scythes and staffs belong here.
3.Gun-All kinds of guns belong here, from snipers to Cannons to Rune Bows.
4.Rune accessories-Here the Alchemist Gloves,Tech Arm, Rune Necklace and the rune bracelets stay.


Continued motion

This is an innovative system that is mainly created for 2 reasons:
1.To eliminate Bugs, exploits and Animation glitches.
2.To make the game feel more realistic and appealing.
The continued motion system(CMS for short)works best from an example. Take any shooting game for an example. When you wall jump in there and you shoot a gun mid-air, your character stops moving and starts shooting. This and any similar scene will not be present in R.U.N.E because in here everything you do goes in a flow. You wall jump and start shooting mid-air, your character continues moving while shooting at the same time. You want to change to a different weapon? The character throws his current weapon which dematerializes and new weapon appears in your character hands or body. This is basically how it works.


Momentum System

This is also another new thing. What it does is it changes the way you jump. And how's that? Take a real life scene for example. When you run and you jump after running for some time, your jump will be longer then when you jump from place. This is from the momentum effect your body gets from running. The same thing is present in R.U.N.E also. When you run for a period of time, and then you jump, your character will Propel forward and making a bigger and further jump. The distance and height of jump depends of the time you ran before jumping. Of course theres a limit to the momentum. And your character reaches maximum momentum after running for about 4.5 seconds. And also there are different mid-air attacks depending on weather it's a normal jump, momentum jump or wall jump or a dodge from a high place.
Customization

When you make a character you will have a pretty wide range of choices. First of all you can choose a gender, and you can also choose your body type. There are 3 Body types:

Muscular- Gives you slightly more HP and ATK but also lowers your speed(slightly) and Rune gauge

Acrobatic-Gives you slightly less HP and ATK but raises your speed(slightly) and Rune gauge

Balanced- Normal HP,ATK,speed and Rune gauge

Also, in RUNE, you can customize your basic clothing,hair, color and Race(undecided about this, maybe you can tell me if you would like the idea of multiple races in this sort of game.)..




Level system

In R.U.N.E there are 100 levels to achieve. And also, there are ranks. Levels are gained from experience and ranks from Kills in PVP matches. The Levels however, don't impact the strength of your character as much as your skill. Because when you gain a level, you only gain points to spend at your weapon skills. No Hit Points or anything will be increased as you level up. Of course those who play a lot will have better skills, but better skills does not win battles by itself. The increase in SKILL Level only makes the attack look better, and only adds perhaps* 0.5 damage per skill level. That's why skill will always be better then Time passed on this game. Even the runes have no level requirements. But, your Rank is something really different. You must kill people to rank up. And that is not an easy task. But once completed, you will be able to access great new frontiers, like the Dungeons and you can fight bosses. And that is a great reward for a great task. *

Raid System



During free roam mode, students that are rank Junior or Higher and up can go on raids and fight bosses. Bosses can be both Monsters and other humans like Teachers. Teachers will require more skill then Monsters as teachers are more skilled then monsters. However, the monster Bosses will have more HP and DMG so it somehow gives players 2 unique experiences. Higher ranked players will have access to stronger Bosses and a better chance at a rare rune. And to make it a different experience on a whole new scale, the monster bosses will feature another side to the fight. After you beat the Boss, if you're in a cave or another destructible place, the place will start to fall apart and our heroes will have to escape. If you fail to escape, all the items you got are lost, and the experience you gain is halved. But Dying as escaping wont be an easy task. As you run, cliffs will crumble and Pats will get closed and new will open. But you can fall, so be careful. And to add another twist to this, the Rune Gauge Key(Q by default) will be replaced by the Help function which, if a teammate falls, will grab him and put him back on track, which will empty the rune gauge no matter what class you are. And also, if a team member falls and dies, the overall experience gets cut down by a little. And for a realistic feature, all who die, will “Black out” and awake at the exit of the cave.




the story nao:
The beginning.
2025 A.D.
The whole world is in panic – a giant swarm of asteroids is heading towards planet Earth. Assuming their trajectory and speed, collision is inevitable.
The world's governments finally receive a reason to stop all ongoing wars and conflicts to work together on a life-preservation project.
Shelters are created all over the world, where around 60% of the population can take cover along with all necessary supplies and equipment. To make the most of the time left it was decided, that the construction must be concentrated, so instead of numerous shelters scattered all over the world only several colossal bunkers were built: 4 in North and South America, 4 in Europe, 3 in Russia, 3 in Asia, 2 in Africa and the Middle East, 1 in Australia and Japan. A truly unbelievable number of people could be housed in these arcs and the same could be said about the number of helping hands, that aided the construction.
Six months. The shelters are complete. All that was left – wait and hope.

“The Rain”. The name that was later given to the cataclysm. It lasted for 4 days. The asteroid swarm mostly consisted of small to medium sized pieces – they wouldn't be a problem separately, but the sheer quantity of the projectiles was devastating.
It took two months for the dust in the atmosphere to settle down and scientists began to send probes to test the condition of the atmosphere and the radiation level. Surprisingly, neither of them suffered any drastic changes. Although there were still doubts whether humans would be somehow effected.
August 3,2026 A.D, almost 4 months after the the rain. A human volunteer has been selected to go to the surface to test for radiation. A female, mother of 2 kids. She gave birth to the younger one the day it all happened. She has been sick ever since. Her older child is 4 years old, and the other is just a baby...
“I'm walking out of the hatch..ugh.”the woman said, coughing and breathing heavily. She was in pain and she knew she had little time left. That's the sole reason she volunteered. She only had one regret, that she wont see her boys grow. She started walking, the land around her devastated. She was witnessing the aftermath of the scourge the asteroids caused. Large chunks of asteroid rocks were lying around. She kept walking until she was in front of a large abyss. A hole in the ground made during “the rain”.
But there was something unusual in all of this. A little stone was glowing. A rather small stone. But everything around it seemed to be unaffected by the meteor rain. There were flowers, grass, even a small tree around the stone. The woman, coughing, approached the small stone. It was shaped just like any normal stone, but it was radiating with energy. It seemed to be letting out heat. Not burning heat, but rather a warmth which surrounded Jennet-that was the name of the woman. She approached the stone and grabbed it. The warm feeling she had felt, suddenly intensified. She stopped coughing.
“Miss Jennet, miss Jennet..are you there??What's going on?”A voice was heard from the radio communicator she was wearing.
“I'm here. Something incredible has happened. I'll be right with you.”Jennet said, heading back to the shelter running. She had grabbed the stone and took it with her. But as she was running, everything around her seemed to be blooming. Grass appearing under her feet, flowers coming out of the ground. She stopped running even after she entered the shelter. The man talking on the radio before appeared in front of her.
“Miss Jennet, what happened?”that person asked her.
“It's a miracle Preston. I've been healed. It's all thanks to this stone.”she showed the stone to the man.
“Thank you miss. We'll analyse this right away. You can visit your children in the cafeteria.”
“Here you go.”Jennet gave the man the stone, but as soon as he walked out of sight, she resumed coughing. She was sick again. She started running after Preston, but felt really tired after the very first steps. She yelled.
“Preston....Hold on!”she screamed while coughing. The man was already gone. She started coughing blood. This was it. She was dying. And just at that tragic moment, her older kid ran up to her.
“Mum?Are you gonna be all right??”Little Edward spoke.
Jennet started crying, as her close friend Christina came over carrying Baby Felix.
“Are you all right Jen?”Christina asked, reaching out to hold Jennet's hand
“I don't know Chris, I don't know...”the woman could only pronounce that sentence before fainting.
Why did this woman faint? What was that crystal?? And what was the connection between it all? Many of these questions have answers..but seeking them is necessary.

Lol, of course i will!but the thing is, this is still in "idea" phase...yeah, i know alot of people say that ideas are bs if i don't know how to make them come true, but i don't have any programing skills, thats why i posted it here. But, i did started learning Python and Panda3d. But i'm still just a BIIIIIIG noob, as i've only been working with those 2 programs for like...3 hours??that's why i need help...xD

I must say, I am in the midsts of starting the creation with 2 others, we have 2 programmers and a graphics artist, however none of us are keen on the creation side. We decided on a 2D TBRPG (FInal Fantasy Tactics). I can talk to them and if you would want to migrate towards that and being a designer for us we could probably use you. But you it all depends on them and you I think. We need a more detailed design doc, going down to graphics types, game play is fine but also GUI, interation, types of short cuts etc. We can do it our selves... but I don't know programmers IMO are those who can create anything from nothing but most of us have shit for ideas on what to actually do LOL.

ok..first off.....OF COURSE I WANNNA HELP NO MATTER WHAT THE TYPE OF GAME IS!!!i want to do ANYTHING thats game related!!!and i CAN provide you with all those stuff...but...sry, but i kinda don't understand the post...are you asking me to help you make a 2d Turn based RPG or are you CURENTLY working on that and would like to help me with MY idea???anyhow, PLEASE add me on MSN so we can talk!!!

Also you dont tell us what you need. Please fill us in on that?

well lol, i pretty much need everything at this point, as i'm JUST starting to learn Python. But as far as i know(which, like i said, isn't very much atm) I'll need artists, and programers i beleive right?Again, sorry if i'm not that informed, but i'm just starting to learn programming...xD
hope i helped..
oh and, i don't know what engine. Whichever they used in DMC4 maybe?xD
Or whichever will be able to make all the demands i put there(continued motion etc) come true..xD

Hmm, maybe you should leave leading projects to people with experience? If you dont even know how people developing a game are called..

Sure, if someone wants to lead my project, GO AHEAD!But i demand some sort of position that will let me help them make the game. Like tell them if something's wrong with the models, or graphics, or gameplay..or even write the story for them..get me?
