exelent post hamik
couldnt have said it better myselfi remember once i wanted to make a game... i searched for hours on google untill i realised that you aint gonna make a game in an hour! you would never imagine how painfull that was to accept :P anyway, after some time i realised that if you are gonna make a game, theres no way around programming (almost). so asked around on a couple of forums, to find a good beginer language, and i was told to start out with visual basic, but then started on visual basic.net (huge difference actually) that wasnt easy, because back then, my english was even worse than it is now, so ppl where having a hard time understanding me! it taught me the basics of programming like data types, functions, OOP, and such, and for a long time i forgot about making games, because programming was so fun, that i just continued making apps! then a couple of years later i got back into the idea of making a game, so i started to learn C++ (image how that was after, being used to vb.net). after about half a year, i downloaded the DirectX SDK, and realised how complicated it actually is (didnt know that there was engines for directX at that time), so i kinda gave up, and started making 2D games in flash for a while. then i accedently fell over a engine called Esenthel engine, and i was amazed! i started learning, and playing around, and before i knew it i was making a 3D game! i think i was about 11 back then when i first started with vb.net, and i am 15 now, so thats a good 4 years it took me to reach the level of making an ordinary game! and i am still not good enough to make a MMO! this just proves that theres no way around! if you really want to make a game, theres no shortcuts! the only way is learning, and gaining knowledge! also you are not gonna make a game alone! currently i am working alone, but i downloaded free models, and found textures, and materials on google! lol... i just wanted to tell that i agree with you, and before i knew it i wrote my whole f***ing history, of programming ![]() anyway, good job on the post hamik! hope you will add more to it later?
