D2 is the only game that grabbed me and didn't let go for years. It's so addicting once you start getting nice gear, multiple characters/builds, and pvping. I finally let it go about 4-5 years ago, after being hooked for 3.

Once that becomes stale, you join ladder hardcore, and it's a whole different ball game.

Long live v1.09

edit: and I would just like to point out that leveling up is am absolute breeze once you hit level 25. Not saying it's harder before then, but once you hit 25 you can join games where everybody just kills the final boss over and over again. A good game will arrive at/kill the boss in 5 minutes and it's a level or 2 a run every time guaranteed.

Yes, Diablo 2 is FTW. My favorite game of all time, next to Diablo 1. Nothin could ever replace the lore and how fun that game was.

Im starting to here this alot these days. However you need to think how amazing the whole concept was 9 years ago. sure now we have oblivion and games with ming blowing graphics and stories, but Diablo 1 really innovated and paved the way for a near perfect sequel. Got to give NWN 1 credit to though.

I played Diablo and Diablo 2 to death, I still do. I'm curious about Diablo 3 but I still love Diablo 2 a lot. Not even Sacred could hold a candle to Diablo 2 for me.

I'm not planning on getting D3 because they don't have the necromancer and amazon on that game.

Diablo II's single player is decent. The multiplayer is where the game really shines though.
