I reused my tower, Hard drive and dvd/cd burner and with a little over $500 I got a some parts for a pc that could play crysis and crysis warhead oh max settings and they both run smooth.
although building a pc from scratch like that wold cost around 700-800 depending on the parts and excluding the monitor. It could handle anything out and games in the future too.
