This game is essentially Nethack made with ajax(Nethax). Its a single player rpg where the object of the game is to see how far you can get before you eventually die of hunger, death by monster, curse or you fall down the stairs blind.

There is a learning curve for newbies to nethack but the developer put some handy drop down menus to help.

Here are some useful things to know.

Drinking from fountains involves pressing q for quaff(drinking is called quaffing) then pressing -to drinking from a fountain you're standing on.

The tourist credit card can be used to pay for things from shops.

The archeologist tinning kit can be used to make tins of food from dead bodies. The tins are light weight and the food lasts longer before going rotten.

Your pet not following you is normal, if you ever find a leash you can use it to leash your animal to you.

k is to kick, someone locked doors need to be kicked open.
s is to search, sometimes when you get stuck you need to find those hidden passages.

scrolls and potions have weird labels on purpose, you either wait until you can identify them or you can drink a potion or throw it at an enemy. the same goes for wands, my last character died because i took a chance with an unlabed wand and it polymorphed a bug into a golem.
