Its not underrated, but it is kind of hardly known. People don't talk about it, or get interested after reading the synopsis. But its a great anime yes.

boogiepop phantom was my favorite under rated and unknown anime. So was Betterman.

Tenchi Muyo, most people dismiss it as an average haram anime, but the storyline is the most complex one I've ever seen in Japanese entertainment.

Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn. One would think it would be more popular, but it doesn't seem to be. At least not the anime. The first season is boring as hell, but then it gets good.

Also, Buso Renkin. It was a decent anime, could have used more fans.
