Yo yo,

I've been playing HellMOO a bit and I like it, but I don't want to settle for the first decent game I've found now that I'm back into MOOing a bit.

I'm thinking about digging into a Star Trek MOO but I only found one so far (Where No One Has Gone Before) and it turned me off in a big way, at first. I like a MOO where the coders have made a daunting number of game features.

But regardless of genre (read: even if it's a fantasy setting) -- what are your favorite MOOs and how deep is the programming?

No offense to those of you on games like WNOHGB who prefer to type out their RP more often than letting the game system decide what happens - it's just not what I'm looking for this month.

hellmoo is too confusing, and mmm people around here call them MUDs. i used to play this one, i forgot the name of it. it was like you were this drug dealer and you could actually use your keyboard to move around the city, you still had to do like 'attack pimp' 'make drug 4' ect ect, but it closed down, it was real fun. i wish i could find somethign liek that again.

I know you said you're looking for something now, however like 8-9 years ago (hell probably longer then that) I played a MUD called DARKNESS FALLS... it was the game that Mythic based Dark Ages of Camelot off of... well some of the players got together and started creating a spinoff(so to speak) with similar features and stuff. The MUD was great, and I can't settle down and play another because Darkness Falls ruined it for me lol, the new one is called CYRA. Right now its still in development, and there is no timeline for its release, but they have forums and a small active community, but once the game is released i am positive alot of people will join. They have been working on the game for 3+ years now and had am alpha late 2008, but no word on a beta right now. As said before, don't know when it it will be released, neither does the dev working on it. It was very fun and I can't wait for the release!

the best MUD with the best community hands down, im pretty scared to post the link here because im worried onRPG's moron community might float over to it, but at the same time since it's a MUD most people won't even visit the link, and you have to have acutal intelligence to play it. 4D, you might have heard of it. it's called 4 dimensions, not going to explain it much, i play it sometimes. more lately than before though

it's pretty old, from early 90's. they also have a flash client so you don't even need to DL any client, but you can play in your own client if you want. I just play in their client on the site, makes things a lot easier.
