While congress retains the right to make laws to its property, aka the US of A, one forgets the reason the Bill of Rights was created. It was created because the first signers believed the constitution was still too vague and left too much power to the government. As such, the first ten amendments were made as so to ensure that government does not overstep its bounds and become to controlling.

While the interpretation is up to the Supreme Court with article IV, with the following amendments added to the Constitution, it is the job of congress to pass laws that ensure the safety of the US based off of the principles in the Constitutions, especially based off of the Bill of Rights.


While the Constitution delegates powers, its the Amendments which delegate how those powers can be used.

If the Federal Health Car bill makes it to law, and Supreme Court hears a case about it, I guarantee it will get thrown out. The bill violates people liberty to choose which doctor and which medical procedures are best to preserve their life. Because there will only be ONE health-care plan, there would be no alternative to the system.

There is a reason why sociallism is on the fall . . . because it doesn't work . . . simply because were are NOT created equal, despite what everyone says to you growing up. We are all individually unique, needing different things in life.

ncyphe is just about as wrong as Aedoneus is.

Although I don't know why we're talking about health care in this post, but anybody who says that "socialism doesn't work" is obviously skewed and beyond converising with in so many ways - but this thread isn't the place for that.

Where on the other hand; Aedoneus is one of those people who believes in the New World Order, and that 9-11 was a hoax.

Just ignore them.

They have the freedom to believe crazy stuff like that, which is the beautiful thing about this country we live in.

On the one hand you say that socialism is on the decline, on the other you say that it's as you claim the ideology that leads to the present US gov. carrying through the the biggest tax ever and effectively threatening your freedom in ways unexperienced before.

What you have is socialism on the rise over to put it bluntly corporate interest.
Not yours, corporate, because if you have no health care and no social security you will end dieing a decade long, painful gruesome death, once your health starts to fail which is inevitable going to be part of your life.

Being the member of a nation requires from you a basic level of identification and compassion for your fellows.

That is not an intrusion into your personal dignity as a human at all.
It is also essential to uphold the rights which the bill of rights sets forth, to be in agreement with whatever system of common rules there might be used in regulation of society.

The bill of rights does not intent do protect your vanity or personal sense of justice, it stands on a higher moral ground.

Also it is formulated in essentially a way as to effect that the individual passages display their reach and the scope;
If there is a justified doubt about the compliance of a general law, there will be a trial acording to regulations, the concerns will be expressed through supreme court ruling and the law will be either dismissed or it will be altered to fit.

All of this is pretty boring unromantic legislative procedure and hardly not only all the laws of the US are unconstitutional as you claimed, nor will the current administration destroy you as a human being just because it passed another half assed green bill for once.
