I, as a long time gamer of f2p games, am pretty skeptical about whether or not this will be completely free or if it will even be good.
It does look good but so do 90% of all the games we hype. And also, why are they making a game completely free? Theres gotta be a catch. No one would spend so much time making something for free when they could easily sell it and make tons of money.

This is a half lif 2 mod. You need the source engine from a half life 2 game to play it.

so they can't have authorization to make a game and sell it using source?
is it hard to get authorization? this game looks like it has high production value

To be honest I have very little idea.
My best guess would be... it could be possible to get authorization to make it a full game... just look at Urban Terror... this was a quake or HL2 mod [forget which] and was made into its own game, and a really good one!
But none the less, if source did say "Yes, we will give you authorization to use this game as a stand alone client." or something like that, it'd most likely be followed with "...for $####."

well they are modifying a game so they're not doing much work and there is lots of this mods out completely free so ppl do this all the time for fun and/or donations to keep up the good work.

it's your basic hl2 mod(total conversion). made by the community for the community.

You don't realize how many Source mod's are out do you?
There are a lot of GOOD GAME MODS made from the Source Engine and they are ALL FREE, including this one.

mods and total conversions have always been very high quality(there are some awful ones too though). they usually replace the game you bought. it's been this way since quake 1.

hey guys i decided to test if TF2 would work as a source engine with mods.

so i downloaded a mod that said it required HL2. I guess that TF2 would work as well so i downloaded it.

but when i clickeded on it it opened steam to the page where i buy HL2.
does this mean TF2 doesn't work with this mod?

its called Weekend Warrior or something, can someone tell me how i can make this work with Tf2 or is it impossible.
