Default Mark Jacobs sacked by EA

Mark Jacobs sacked by EA

Quote:
What do you think of the firing? Will this be good for Warhammer? Will it have any effect? My thoughts below the fold.

I think it will have little or no effect. I think Jacobs’ direct control over the design of Warhammer had become minimal at this stage, and I think the institutional fear within Mythic won’t go away just because one guy leaves. There are some glaring flaws in WAR’s design that have been there from release, but after they crapped the bed so badly on subscribers they are too afraid to fix those things.

It is a pretty shocking move, but probably well deserved.

What do you all think? Will it change anything about WAR? Will it help?

Jesus, you know that EA has made significant strides in becoming a better developer right? John Riccitiello is probably the best CEO right now out of the big publishers(if not all publishers).

So EA forces Mythic to release War far too early and it ends up being so buggy it was damn near unplayable for some people. The game, about 6 months later, finally becomes playable but by then its reputation is ****ed.

And then EA fires the CEO of mythic.

Mythic made a ****in horrible decision to sell out to EA and EA still makes horrible decisions all the time. Turning over a new leaf my ***, the Sims 3 only furthers my point that EA is destroying the PC gaming industry and then saying its the consumers fault that it is going downhill...

**** YOU EA!

Maybe Mythic shouldn't say something will be done internally then completely miss the mark, forcing EA to take the risk of launching early so the game stops being a black hole that selectively eats money.

Now Bioware has to spend time that could be going into Mass Effect and The Old Republic to clean up the mess that is Mythic.

Oh and what does The Sims 3 have to do with this? Are companies not suppose to release sequels to highly popular series? Are you one of those people that ***** and moan about DRM practices that are meant to curb the MILLIONS of those that "order" PC games?

I think he was referring to the state of Sims 3, regarding EA taking 1 step forward and 1 step back, then releasing it as a whole new game and using it like the cashcow it is.
