You Again!
Yes it’s me again; here to bore you with a long thread
TLDR; Play Wonder King
Alright, I give; what is it this time?
Why it’s Wonder King Online! The one and only game to fill the void until something better and more captivating comes out!
Wonder King? What is this, some kind of fancy dress party?
Yes Wonder King, not Wonder Gun or Wonder Space Marine. The name is as manly as you can get for a 2D side-scroller. I mean seriously, what in games name is a ‘Latale’? Sounds like some sort of Panty Hose brand! Anyway, you’re correct on one thing; this game does include the ‘Straight-Outta-Korea’ 2-D Chibi style. However, unlike its boring counterparts; each character, environment and monster is magnificently drawn. You’d swear that you were playing Wario Land Shake! Not only that but the character customisation, (A hell of a lot of starting faces, hairstyles ect. to choose from in Character Creation) in game armours and Player vs Player will indeed make this the one and only side-scroller that will stand out for years to come!
Ok Tax, your sales pitch once again got me, hook me up on the details.
Haha, I knew you’d come to your senses!
The game includes your traditional MMORPG classes, each with its extravagant high level skills and armours. The skills in this game are indeed flashy and can be chained into a combo that those dastardly monsters wish that hadn’t of felt! A gorgeous class chart can be found
here.
Wow, I can’t wait to fiddle around with all those soulless anime characters! Uh- Wait; How in Cthulhu’s name do I control them!?
I’m glad you asked you beautiful creature, you.
Here’s a lovely diagram for you provided by the official Wonder-King website
That’s just fine and dandy! When can I play?
The closed beta is scheduled for the 9th of July. A fully fledged open beta is expected to soon follow.
Sweet! How do I get in this Closed beta?

Do you have any guides, builds, walkthroughs yet?
As I said before, Information on such is scarce. Some class guides have been made by Wonder-King forums user – Hanyu. These guides don’t seem to be anything solid yet but if you want something to follow here are the links.

Unlike WindSlayer or other 2D side-scroller. In WonderKing we have to pick our first job at the character creation screen. (You can create up to 3 character max)
As most of you guys know, there are 4 main jobs. (Swordsman, Mage, Theif, Archer)
You can see the job tree for each job in the picture below.
- Swordsman > Warrior > Berserker > Geno-Cider
- Swordsman > Knight > Holy-Knight > Temple-Knight
The swordsman is the ultimate melee class. It can fight head on and endure huge damage from enemies while pounding multiple mobs at the same time.
Most of the Swordssman’s skill are concerned with increasing HP and defense. A choice between two-hand weapons which have more attack power, and one-hand swords is inevitable. A skill to attack groups of monsters is also a very valuable skill that every swordman should get no matter what weapon he/she is using.
The stat of main concern for swordsmen is STR. This stat increase not only attack power but also defense power. But DEX is also very important, because missing a potentially killing blow is always frustrating.
- Mage > Saint > Priest > Exorcister
- Mage > Wizard > Dark-Wizard - Sorceress
The mage is the job most concerned with magic. They attack enemies using the elements and also dark and light magic. Most of the mage skill’s involve healing capabilities, powerful barriers to reduce damage, lightning and fire attacks and self-cure. And because of the high reliance on mana, they also have skills that increase their mana pool. Despite the great arsenal of skills, mages will still want to stay as far from monsters as possible because their HP and armor is the lowest among the job classes. The barriers and heals increase survivavilty but they can’t save you all the time.
The main stat of the mage is INT, this is where your damage is based, with SPR second in priority due to the mana consumption.
Upon reaching level 30, a mage may choose to become a Saint (specialize on healing and support, light magic) or a Wizard (specialize on elements and dark magic).
- Theif > Rogue > Joker > Captain
- Theif > Ninja > Master Ninja > Shadow Attacker
Thieves are the dark and sneaky characters of the game. They can either fight close or afar, but in either case it’s sure that when monsters get close they have a high chance of missing the thief. They have fairly average amount of HP to survive if they get hit. On the offensive side, thieves have a high chance to do critical damage at a very fat rate compared to the other classes. Their skills are concerned with increasing the dodge chance and also hiding their bodies from enemies to avoid damage. A choice between daggers and shuriken (throwing stars) is inevitable.
The main stat of thieves is LUK, an offensive and defensive stat. It increases critical rate and dodge rate at the same time. Increasing DEX is also important for accuracy, since you’ll be missing most of the time if you don’t do criticals.
- Archer > Scout > Ranger > Strider
- Archer > Hunter > Ellan > Beast-Keeper
The archer is the job that specializes in use of ranged weapons (bows and guns later on). They also can use explosive traps. Most of the Archer’s skills boost their attack range and if ever the enemies get close to them they have improve traps to finish the enemies off or improved evasion to get away from the fight unharmed.
Stats distribution is fairly simple since your main stat DEX(the stat where your damage is based) also increases your accuracy. However, you can also add on the following stats: LUK, STA and SPR. These stats won’t up your damage though LUK increases critical rate, STA increases health and SPR increases mana pool.
Upon reaching level 30 the Archer is able to advance and specialize. A choice between the Scout and the Hunter job classes must be made.

A notice that THIS IS ONLY A SUGGESTION
It's your freedom to follow my suggestions or not.
-Stats-
(RECOMMENDED)
Raise all 5 INT
since wizard Class is more of a damage class than saints, 5 INT for damage
You can also raise 4INT 1MP as well because of all the spamming of magic you will do.
But I recommend 5INT
-Skills-
List:
Increase Magic - Permanently raises your power of magic.
Impact of Magical Power: Increase the Regeneration rate of MP and your Max MP
Maximum Gravity - Makes all enemies in an amount of area have lower defence and moving speed.
Soul Extraction - Damages the foe and recovers MP according to the damage you have dealt.
Fire Wall - Creates a wall of Fire that damages the foe in it. It will deal fire attributed damage.
Overmind - Increases your Maximum MP.
Maximum Ability - Raises all your attributed attacks' power.
Dark Shock - Creates a powerful dark electric ball in front of you. It will damage any monster that touches it. The ball will not move. It will deal dark attributed attacks.
Guide:
1. Raise Increase Magic to 8. (Unlocks Maximum Gravity and Soul Extraction)
2. Maximum Gravity to 8. (Unlocks Fire Wall and Overmind)
3. Fire Wall to 8. (Unlocks Maximum Ability and Dark Shock)
4. Max Dark Shock
5. Max Maximum Ability
6. Max Increase Magic
7. Max Impact of Magical Power
8. Max Fire Wall
9. Put 7 to Over Mind
10. Save all the skill points you get until 80 for 2nd Job advancement Skills.

Once again, this is only suggestions its your choice to follow these or not.
(This job is an advancement after Mage Stage)
Stats:
Some people may go for 2MP + 3 INT
because of all the buffs priests have to perform
Another way is to just put all on INT
for Power.
(I would go for all INT since mages already have alot of mp)
Skills:
-List-
Haste - Raises speed of you and all your party members.
Magic's Power(?) - Raises the amount of mp recovered for a period of time
Grand Heal - Recovers You and Your Party member's Health
God's Protection - Temporarily Raises all Your and your party member's stats
Holy Bolt - The only Attacking Skill in Saint Job. Shoots a Holy attributed Bolt that deals damage on all enemies on the way.
Bless - Temporarily Raises Physical Defence, Physical Attack, and Magic for You and your party members.
Bind - Shoots a Holy attributed bolt to enemy and make them unable to move.
-Skill Guide-
1. Raise Haste to 8 (This will unlock Grand Heal and God's...)
2. Raise God's Protection to 8 (This will unlock Holy Bolt and Bless)
3. <You can raise either first> Holy Bolt for first better attack or Bless for better attack range but with your wizard skill.
(I would go for Holy Bolt)
Either way, max it.
NOTE: If your going to max Bless first, before starting to points into it, raise holy bolt by 1 first. This will help u alot on training.
4. Max the either Bless or Holy Bolt. Depending on what you maxed first.
5. You can choose to max God's or Haste First. God's Protection for more power and Haste for more speed.
(I would max haste first cause of already maxed bless)
6. Max God's Protection or Haste. Depending on which you maxed first.
7. You can Choose to Max Grand Heal or not. Its up to U.
(Im going to max it.)
As for Bind and Magic's Power(?)... I think they are useless...
Bind cuz all it does is make monsters unable to move.
But all saint attacks are long range so no point.
Magic's Power(?)... the potions in wonderking are fairly cheap and you can make alot of money
by simply training or doing quests.
and since you are a wizard, you already have higher mp recovery rate than other classes.
-The End-
More Job's Guides will make made soon!

or just post here!

(This job is an advancement after Archer Stage)
Stats:
1. Raise 4 DEX 1 LUCK

(if 5DEX raise Bow Mastery to 8.) (Unlocks Back Step Shot and Hawk Summon)
2. Hawk Summon to 4. (This is one of those skills that need 2 skill points to raise 1) (Unlocks Shock Arrow Ice Arrow)
3. Raise either Shock or Ice Arrow to 8. (From what ive heard, Shock arrow can go THROUGH enemies. But im not certain. If it's wrong go for ice arrow since Freeze > Slow.) (Unlocks Mass Shoot and Hawk Mastery)
4. Max Mass Shot
5. Max Bow Mastery or Critical Up
6. Max Shock or Ice Arrow (The one that you raised to 8)
7. Max the Other Arrow
8. Now You can choose to max your Hawk or Critical UP or Bow Mastery

If you see any problems or have suggestion, feel free to contact meh
mkmkmk93@hotmail.com
now....shall we start ?
Stat:
1 Luk, 4 Dex [Method 1]
Once i played korean WK, few people used this type of stat...but
it is not that great later on
5 Dex [Method 2]
(I use this )
Most of the people use this
good Damage and ..yeah 'recomended'
Skill list for gunner:
Gun Mastery : Increase Damage when you equip Gun (Passive)
Critical Up: Increase you're critical rate (Passive)
Frozen Shot: Reload an Ice bullet and shoot. freezes enemy (Active)
Explosive Shot: Shoot a Explosive bullet, that gives explosives damage to near-by enemy (Active)
Trap Mastery: Increase the amount of traps you can use (Passive)
Poison Mine: Install Poisonous mine on the ground, and make them poisonous. (Active)
Increase Trap Time: Increase the time that trap stays on the ground (Passive)
Ice Mine: Install Icy mine on the ground. gives a ice damage and freezes them. (Active)
Skill list for Gunslinger:
Increase Range attack: Increase the Damage for Range attack (Passive)
Wild Shot: Fire the bullet really quickly everywhere on the left and right side of you (Active)
Napalm Bomber: Install a trap that will give Flames damage to nearby Enemy (Active)
One shot, One Kill: Aim enemy with a scope, and give them high damage / small chance for instance Kill (Active)
Deadly Fire: Shoot a bullet, that goes through the enemies (Active)
Machine Research: Increase the Damage of (Explosive shot, Poison Mine, Ice Mine, Deadly Fire, Wild Shot, Napalm Bomber/Passive)
Guide
1. I suggest not to raise Critical Up, Unless you choose Method 1 for stat
2. Trap Skills are not recommended, i tried it, and it's pretty awful
3. When you became Gunslinger, try to use Napalm Bomer. Even though it's a trap skill, Damage is awesome
4. My suggestion is, Raise Machine Research Later.
5. Try to use Machine Gun, not Shotgun. (You can use Machinegun, Shotgun, and Sniperrifle. and you'll see the difference)
|
Note: Not all classes have a guide YET, this is what this closed beta is for; to experiment builds, skills and equipment.
Note 2: By no means should you follow iDans or Darkness's advice. I'm fairly sure there are more alternatives to the builds in his posts.
Note 3: I highly doubt those will be the final skill names but these are quoted just to give you a general idea on what to expect from each advancement.
Note 4: Thanks again Wonderking HQ and great props to iDan and Darkness for the informative translations.
Uninteresting Extras
The Did you knows and Did you Don'ts
Did you know that Wonder King is approximately 99.4466 times better than Maple Story?
Did you know that unlike other boring MMORPGs this is possibly the only MMORPG where you can have Cars, Hovercrafts and Blimps as mounts?
Did you know that this game has a lovely pet system where your pets fight couragously by your side?
Did you know that unlike Maple Story and Windslayer that Wonder-King will have Castle Seiges where the winner is crowned king of BOTH castles? (How WONDERful)
Did you know that the gunner class in this game can use a variety of guns? This includes: Miniguns, Rocket Launchers, Pistols and Automatic Rifles.
Did you know that Jesus plays Wonder-King Online while he sleeps?
Did you know that if you collect 3 cards (A, B, C) of a monster you can transform into that monster for 18 minutes?
Did you know that there's a Daily Chance event where if you kill a monster you can get a capsule, use it, and then a door appears that takes you to a room filled with chests/mimics that drop items/money?
Did you know that EXP in a Party is accumulated into a jackpot that at the end of the party is divided between all the party members?
Eye Candy
Great Thanks to OnRPG User Orpheus for posting these!
Pets

(Each pet can evolve into other more powerful critters too!)

Pah! I bet this game plays and grinds just like Maple Story! Right?
Wrong! Unlike Maple Story the games exp needed to level doesn't skyrocket to sweet zombie jesus levels like Maple Story.

The PvP
The PvP in this game can be simple but also just as complex as any other 3D MMORPG. When you think PvP and 2D sidescroller, you probably think of two characters standing next to eachother spamming the attack key. Now, like in Windslayer this is a viable option, however. Wind Slayer to some extent must be given credit for also offering more to this such as dashing and backwards evasion. These two simple features alone add an extra level of depth to the Player versus Player fuction. Now you may ask what this has to do with a similar game such as Wonder King, allow me to ellaborate.
Wonder King has something highly exploitable and also acceptable which once again adds a new layer to the Player vs Player function, Jumping; not just any jumping but jumping that can be cancelled at any time via the attack animation. To relate to another game the cancels work somewhat to the glitchfest known as GunZ: The Duel where one animation inputted can cancel another enabling the ablity for highly diverse combos. Not only that but it has allowed the process of the 'short-hop' which is where you jump and input the keys to dash almost simutaniously causing your character to leap forward or backwards for a jumps distance. What makes this so interesting is that this leap can be altered in two ways.
A. A double jump which adjusts the high of the leap
B. an attack input which stops the leap
The video below shows the 3 kinds of Wonder King jumpdashes which are: the shorthop, the jump-dash and the double jump-dash.
All 3 of these jump can be canceled at any time with a simple attack animation allowing the potential of a fast paced attack and dodgefest full of prediction, sword clashing and quickness. Unlike GunZ, this is no glitch but a developer feature that has recently been unearthed by Japanese Wonder King players. I assure you this will make PvP alot more interesting.
Below is a descriptive account of such by Wonder King forums user Laggo.

The "Short Hop"
So for those of you who have played King Of Fighters, you might be familiar with this. But I'll explain it for those who aren't. In WK you have your basic jump, and your basic dash. If you doubletap the left or right movement key, you dash on the ground. If you jump up once and dash, you dash diagonally downward. If you doublejump and dash, you get the same thing (just more vertical height).
However, if you jump and dash really quickly you can get what players call the "short hop", as in somewhat of a horizontal air dash.
For those visual learners, this is a quick drawing of the relation between the three dashes.

I didnt want to go through the whole process of actually recording a short hop and then making a .gif frame by frame (maybe later) so I did it the less-hassle way

Now imagine that much faster and cancellable at any point in any direction.
Now if you are like me (a theorycrafting fiend), rofl. You can see the practical applications of this.
- The short hop is high enough to dash over ground based projectiles, and melee moves if you time it right to land behind the opponent.
- It's very quick and the delay time is nearly nonexistant (like a normal dash except you don't get that dumb terrible forward stab motion).
- Should you notice you are jumping into a terrible attack, you can jump cancel backwards out of it or jump cancel vertically for a little bit more height.
- Pressing the attack button in the middle of the short hop will send you straight downwards into the air stab motion, which has a pretty good deal of hitstun and low delay (meaning you combo into the triple slash from it).
- You can also cancel out of the short hop by just holding down the opposite arrow key, however you have to buffer it for about half a second (so you have to be paying attention and watching for a skill animation to do it) incase you for some reason dont want to use your remaining jump (???).
- A mid-air short hop might also be possible, but the input is extremely annoying (forward+jump -> forward -> jump -> forward realllly fast) and would take some practice to be able to do without triggering an early accidental diagonal dash from the two early forward inputs. Might work if you delay it. It also wouldn't be jump cancellable and you would have to arrow cancel it (which you can't do on reaction, unlike the jump cancel) so it's not as safe.
What does this all mean? Well, lets say it is a Knave VS Ranger PvP match.
Ranger starts off with an arrow shot, the Knave short hops over it, hits the ranger with the downward stab motion (it comes out midair but the hitbox is only active on the ground I think), combo's into the triple slash from the hitstun - and then combo's into a knave skill from the triple slash hitstun. By this time, the Knave's dash has recharged and he has multiple options at his disposal
- Short hop out (to dodge any projectiles that could have hit him had he simply dashed back)
- Jump back, bait an arrow/skill, doublejump forward into downward stab/triple slash/skill combo.
Input Method
The best way I've found to get it reliably 100% of the time is to
-Press Directional Arrow Key
-Press Jump
-Press Directional Arrow Key
Really fast.
While PvP for just anyone is pretty much going to lets dash up to eachother and use as many skills in eachothers' face as possible until someone dies (Berserkers yay) high-level PvP I think will play alot closer to something like Street Fighter (just with double jumps).

As you can clearly see, this has great combo potential and will definatly spawn some heated Player versus Player match ups. With this attribute of the jump Castle Seiges will be extravigent and with the correct timing the duck feature also becomes a usful tool to dodge ranged attacks. I, like you am looking forward to what spawns from this type of play.

Guilds will fight over castles in a game of conquest, with the winning guild gaining access to the castle and the many features it has to offer, such as exclusive items and dungeons. The Housing System on the other hand is being reworked to include private areas for players to remove themselves from the daily battle. Players will be able to decorate their home, use it to rest, or use it as storage for all their items.

MapleStory is a great game that helped pioneer the F2P space, capturing an audience that many overlooked. At the same time, we know that there are those who simply view WonderKing as a clone because of its similarities to MapleStory. Both games fall in the same genre, so similarities are inevitable. Does this make every game in the same genre a clone of its predecessor? No, of course not, since the slightest difference in game mechanics can make a different game. Even double jumping (which players can do in WonderKing) can change the way a game plays. And again, we've been in this business for awhile now and 2D gaming has always been our specialty, so we think WonderKing will be able to stand on its own two feet.

Hello Zabu, as you may know, I am Tax.
A question has dawned upon me now that you've stated that the servers will be held in California. That is to say, Will this International version of Wonder-King Online be International? I am from Australia, you see. A country somewhat distanced from America. I've been unable to try OGPlanets Latale because of this. The similarity is indeed that: Both games servers are in California.
My question is directed to this fact,
Will the lagg issues present in OGPlanets Latale be present in Ndoors Wonderking?
As you may also know, Nexons game, Maple Story also has a somewhat international version (atleast for Australia) and gets along fine with very little lagg issues. I'm aware that Maple Story is a much bigger game than the upcoming Ndoors Wonderking. But I'm very curious and also worried on how these servers will cater to those outside of the Americas. Have you addressed such concerns already? If so can you tell me if one from the Austra-Asia region can play without many lagg problems.
Best regards, Tax.
GM-Zabu:
We've had players from other parts of the world that play Atlantica and Luminary. The players living in Australia and EU have no problem with lag. Let's hope there's no problem with lag with WonderKing too.

For a good start let us post ingame names and what class you'll be when the closed beta opens. I will not list them this time. However, when the Open beta comes around expect a long list, more information and barrells of fun as
