Default Community Based Awesomeness

I would love to play a game that is NOT about the grind OR has very little time required to level (I can deal with hundreds of levels as long as you keep dangling shiny new skills in front of me). Classlessness, player houses, weird places to wander through are great, non-combat skills are amusing for a while.
I need something with a good community... none of this keep to your mob-killing bullshit.
The only game that fit both of these was SMT: Imagine (for the first 30 or so levels in closed beta)
I seem to have a one month attention span with MMO's (I would really like to break that)
I thought Face of Mankind was great but I haven't got a closed beta pass and so I at least need something to hold me over until that or Pre-NGE becomes playable.
I prefer Sci-Fi and Cyberpunk themes as I've played billions of fantasty grindfests.
I will not play chibi MMO's
I will disregard anyone who suggests a browser based MMO (RS included)
I would rather not play a space MMO but I could be swayed on that point.
CS, GUNZ and any other game that runs through a million little matches =/= MMO
If asked I can TRY to make a list of all the MMO's I've played but otherwise I'm gonna go with the excuse that I'm too lazy

I was looking at that one before actually. It reminds me of PSO (and doesn't have that nasty habit of making you solo everything like in GW)
Currently downloading it.... in pieces
gonna take a while

That was basically my reaction after the SMT server reset for OB

At this point I'll play just about anything that isn't a wow clone... getting tired of those

May you feel regret for saying this! PBBGs (specifically - PBBSGs, one of which meets all your requirements is Empire Universe II) have the strongest in-game communities, because interaction between players is message-based, and sometimes forum-based - instead of being reliant on what times the both players are online. I like Persistent Browser-Based Games : )

But for a Sci-Fi MMO, you can... Ironic - because the best community out there is for a Sci-Fi MMO, except that it's minimal graphics.

I recommend... Nothing. I have no experience playing SWG and EVE.

Try EVE, it has a lot of customization and noobs can jump right in with pros if you have a noob friendly corp (guild) theres no classes, anyone can do everything and anything. you can potentionally max all skills if you play enough and have the drive to do so.

What about conquer and zero? You can use some items to level it up instead of long time's monster hunting, you also can do some easy quests to gain exp.
Well, they worth a try.
