Default Good Books/Favorite Author?

I've just recently been getting back into reading again and am looking for some good books, so I'm just wondering what are you favorite books/authors?

By the way, I bought Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk and it's amazing so far you should all give it a try if you plan on reading sometime.

Pygmy, a dark comedy about terrorism and racism. The lead character is a 13-year-old foreign exchange student sent to live with a suburban, white, middle-class family. Oh, and they're Christians. The visit is for six months, and he's one of a dozen similar kids, all shipped to America to live with typical families.

The secret truth is that Pygmy is a terrorist, trained since infancy in martial arts, chemistry and radical hatred of the United States. He has six months to build a prize-winning project for the National Science Fair. If he succeeds, he and his project will go to Washington, D.C. for the finals competition -- where the project will explode, killing millions.

I was going to suggest Chuck Palahniuk, but you have him already, so how about Augesten Burroughs.
He wrote quite a few memoirs, all of which are very brutal.
Check him out, kthx?

Skulduggery Pleasent series, they are for kids but I still still found them very enjoyable.
Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time.

I saw his work in Chapters today I think, will give it a shot once I finish Pygmy, thanks. I forgot to mention that I am looking for authors similar to the style of Chuck's work. One I'm looking at is Will Christopher Baer but I can't seem to find his books anywhere around here.

Author: David Andrew Gemmell
Book: White Wolf

The title of The Damned is given to Skilgannon after the massacre he led at the city of Perapolis, butchering the entire population in the name of his love, Jianna, the Witch Queen. Skilgannon cannot stay loyal to Jianna after this, and leaves her and all the riches and power he had as a General of the Naashanite army. He also leaves because he loves her, and she him, but he knows she could never form an open relationship with him because she uses her beauty, and her body to create allies. Jianna could not accept Skilgannon's leaving her especially with the swords of Night and Day, even if she loved him deeply, and so she sends one of her lovers to reclaim the swords and whether under Jianna's instructions or not he then attempts to kill Skilgannon. The assassination attempt fails and he and his men are slaughtered single-handedly by The Damned.

I highly recomend White Wolf and The Swords of Night and Day, I fell in love with all book characters.

Philip Pullman and Orson Scott Card have some pretty good stuff.

I'd say they're my favorite authors.

Well I've pulled away from all the classics and regular literature and have been reading some light novels.

Recently, Fate/Zero (light novel) and Fate/Stay Night (visual eroge novel) were abso****inglutely epic
