zzz guys seriouslyy.

im not gonna call this a CLONE of TF2, because all i see is this one trailer, and i hate calling games clones.

but the similarities are obvious and undeniable. not ALL games have things TF2 have. i can bet my *** this will be a classed based game, like TF2, and not many FPS are classed based, at least not the type of classes as TF2, but this one appears to be, with the almost the exact same classes (as far as we can see).

take the demoman vs. grenade guy on HAVE for example, i was shocked at how the pipe bombs, the gun, the character, the running, and even the reload animations are the exact same. that is a UNDENIABLE similarity that not all games have (or any game ive seen besides tf2).

heard Bacn say earlier that the character movements are the same because their based off the movement of real people. ok, well, thats yet another similarity, because obviously every fps doesnt do that, but these 2 do.

i could go one by one pointing out everything thats similar or the exact same, but its not necessary. the point is things ARE similar/the same, not shared by all fps, and its makes sense why people would be thinking its a bit too much like tf2. there are MANY ways to do things, to make chars, to make weapons, so why should they be the exact same in many cases? anyways, like i said im not calling it a clone, but it IS undeniably similar in many ways.

Wow... While this isn't exactly the correct location for it to stay. I won't move it because of the popularity. I play TF2 like 2 hrs a day now.... and that is insane how similar it is but I want the ability to bounce on those things in TF2... I want the updates for 360 actually.
It's the weapon design that is so similar. They didn't need to make their super fast class (scout) have a base ball bat as it's melee. They didn't need the machine gun to look the exact same with the ability to spin it w/o firing it. They didn't need to allow the ability to rocket jump. Anyone who say's this isn't based off TF2 never played the game. Like others I won't say it's a clone as it could originally been fan tribute that turned into something so much more.

You and me both.

Seriously, I really regret buying The Orange Box for X360 instead of PC for this sole reason.

I think in some ways it was influenced by TF2. But seriously? Who ****ing cares? TF2 had a great system, it's suprising more games weren't created by now copying it. I didn't really think it had anything to do with TF2 until I saw the aluminum bat and the demoman. Oh look, people running into a battle with rockets flying at them MUST BE A TF2 RIPOFF! A sniper, MUST BE A TF2 RIPOFF! Oh dear GOD NO! A chick wielding a minigun! God forbid it be the 100th game to have one, but no! Alas, it is a TF2 ripoff!

Seriously, I don't give a **** if you are some stupid ignorant fanboy or just someone trying to start shit, you all know you'll give this a try if you have the chance. It looks fun, maybe not completely unique, but fun.

Anyways, look at Day of Defeat. It had a class based system, grenade launchers, etc. Does that mean TF2 ripped it off?

Because they don't copy off of anything? Have you even read the previous posts?

No, the classes aren't the same, the graphics and pace are totally different, and it's a completely different theme. Not to mention they're made by the SAME COMPANY, fail.

But they were the first to implement all those weapons into classes. I wonder how they chose the weapon for the scout-like character, they probably came up with a list of melee weapons then did some dice-rolling right? They could have chose 100s of different melee weapons, it just had to be an aluminum bat, and the class using it just had to have a double jump right? Stop being ignorant and open your eyes.
Maybe you should open your eyes an notice that HAVE hasn't even hinted at having classes. You should also open your eyes and realize some of the weapons in Team Fortress 2 have been used in other classes in other games. In Enemy Territory, the soldier can use a panzerfaust/bazooka, the covert ops gets a sniper rifle and the engineer gets a shotgun. But all that doesn't matter because saying "this guy will use this weapon" in NO WAY makes that weapon more original. Team Fortress 2 still use very generic weapons.

The classes share an obvious resemblance in appearance, the soldier could have looked a lot different, the demo is a clear ripoff. You can keep lying to yourself though, as for the sniper, what is with the "HEAD SHOT" every time you HS someone? Does this not remind of of the green CRITICAL HIT when you shoot someone in the head?(what other games have big green letters that appear on your screen after you hs someone?). So it's not a direct 100% ripoff, but it has borrowed multiple elements from TF2, and saying you see no resemblance other than the grenades is just stupid.
I'd also like you to tell me at what point HAVE mentioned it had classes. You can clearly see gameplay footage of the soldier-esque character using a minigun. In case you haven't noticed, you don't run faster with the bat. The guy with the grenade launcher and one eye isn't supposed to be a black Scotsman, it's supposed to be a evil, psychotic robot. Please look at him a little harder. There's more to him then just a missing eye. Believe it or not, the "soldier" in HAVE and the soldier from Team Fortress 2 are both based off of SOLDIERS. You know why they both have a large metal hat and a rocket launcher? Because soldiers wear armor and carry weapons. Both games just took that idea and characterized it as something that's hard to take seriously. That's how all the classes in Team Fortress 2 were created, believe it or not. No, the "HEAD SHOT" text doesn't remind me me of the "CRITICAL HIT" sign from Team Fortress 2. You know what it does remind me of? That annoying voice from Quake 3 that shouts "HEAD SHOT" every time you hit someone in the head. The only reason that text is there is to make you feel proud of yourself for pulling of a difficult shot. The reason the text in Team Fortress 2 is there is to tell you that your shot did more damage then usual. And since HAVE has the text appear on the HUD and Team Fortress 2 has it appear in the middle of the air, the only thing both these features have in common is that they both appear right after you head shot someone. That's not a resemblance. The only thing HAVE has "borrowed" from Team Fortress 2 is the grenade design. That's it. Sure, Team Fortress 2 most likely inspired parts of the game, but only retards would start screaming "RIPOFF" because of that.

The only features that the robot has with the demoman is that they both use a grenade launcher and they both have 1 eye. If you say it's a rip-off because of that then you are ignoring everything else about those characters. The demoman is a drunk, black, Scotsman. Does that show in the robot? No. Again, look at the robot's design. He has metal bolts going through his face, a teeth pattern on the bottom of his face and an elongated red eye. All of that is there to try and give the impression that the robot is evil. So let's recap, we have a crazy black Scotsman and a psychotic robot. But hey! They both have 1 eye so they must be the same!
