It's been pretty hard to find some good FREE music composers. Took me a while but I found two that are sustainable.

Tried this one out. Has potential. Still trying to work out to get SoundFonts to work.

Very powerful and solid software... Yet stupidly confusing to construct. If only it had a decent piano roll and I knew how to export some to wav files...

FSO engine is quite a good one too, I'm obsessed with it actually :P

I don't know the new link if there is any other website about it, if there isn't you'll just have to get it from other guys who already have it...

To anyone who's still interested with 2D game development:

I am developing a 2D game engine.

Features: scriptable for full customization (usingKonsolScript)
- free and open source software
- renders through DirextX7
- handles image file (BMP, GIF, JPG) resources
- handles sound file (WAV, MIDI) resources
- handle map (layer, entity) with scripts

This game engine is updated monthly for improvements and bug fixes.

What I need is some more testers and feedback.

Game engines are software that specializes on game development. Such softwares uses DirectX or OpenGL/OpenAL for rendering images and sounds.

Listed are only game engines not developer's SDK.
