My most hated quest:
Kill 1000 of these!
2 days later...
CONGRATS! HERE IS SOME XP!
Would you like repeat this quest for more EXP, or just stop leveling and quit the game?
Continue...
2 days later...
WOW HOWD YOU KILL THOSE MOBS SO FAST? HERE IS MORE XP!
You thinking: "Yes! Almost 1 lvl up!"
Quest says How about 1 more go at this quest to try and lvl up?
You: Meh, sure
2 days later yet again...
OMG SO GOOD! HERE SOME LOTS OF XP ZOMFG!!!
You: 'Damn, 98.643178%.... Guess I have to kill another 500 mobs to level up.'
1 day later...
You: YESS!! FINALLY!!! LVL 46!!!!!!! OMG IM ALMOST HALFWAY TO MAX LVL YAY!!!!!!!!!!!111111

An easier question to answer would be what are the good points of silkroad...

Blizzard doesn't make WoW where you go and use Kung Fu. Cryptic doesn't make CoH that you go and play Kung Fu either. Age of Conan, Dark Age of Camelot, LOTRO, all Western MMOs has NO KUNG FU!

So plz, shut it.
thats not the point. Its obvious that any of those western games you mentioned borrow anything from the western culture, nor they rub in your face. they are fantasy MMORPGs that are quite neutral in their concepts.

unlike chinese MMOs which are oversaturated in chinese culture, something that the vast majority of western players have learned to hate

and the fact that all those were unbearable grindfests with zero endgame didnt help. nowadays chinese themed = fail

I agree with the grind from the Eastern.

Though I still stand with my point that diff culture make diff kind of games. (kung fu was only an example)

But also, America, for example, has no medieval history. So they have to make games out of something else. (Unless they want to make Independence War Online, Civil War Online, or Gettysberg Online). China, on the other hand, is rich with historical stuff, real and fiction.

It's not about 'stupid eastern know only how to make Orient games', but it's also about what kind of background/resources/history they have. Not to mention they're quite proud of their history. To me, it makes sense for them to make what they know best.

Canada, the US, Central & South America are rich with history, real & fictional, we just need to get the stories from the people who were here first: the Aboriginals.

Hell, even the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, India, and Russia have a rich history, real & fictional, but yet no one is making games for any of those either...just tonnes of Asian MMOs, which are just usually cookie cutter to each other and getting really repetative.

There's also a difference between using one's culture for inspiration, and exploiting it countless times to make a profit.
