I remember ages ago that I played on WOW on private servers, just exactly like WOW but for free. Is this possible for all MMO's that have a monthly fee because I want to play an MMO but dont want to pay the fee's.

quite a few games have private servers, but i wouldnt recommend them because

1) You get what you paid for. You pay nothing,you get broken content,full of bugs, half the skills dont work, etc etc etc.

2) Even while they look free, those servers cost something to mantain.

The money comes from donations, and what do donators get?? usually stupidly overpowered stuff, like gear +25 when everybody legit can only dream of getting theirs to +5.
In PvP games this is a no-go, because donators become raid bosses and can eat alive 25 non-donators without breaking a sweat

3) The staff of those pservers are usually (as in 99,999% cases) extremly corrupt. If you happen to kill a GM friend, you'll find yourself banned within seconds, and all your stuff given to that friend. Same regarding guild wars, sieges, loot drops, whatever.

4) usually have only one server open to the rest of the world. that means you will be playing in the same server with asians, americans, europeans,africans, whatever

translation= heaps of lag

5) Last but not least when private servers reach certain degree of succeed they are always canned
bet you wont have fun playing on a server for 4 months, working a lot to get the levels, stuff, ranking, even donate money.....and then see everything going *POOF* overnight when the server gets sued and forced to go down

Well the game I want to play is Global Agenda, and I dont get enough money to pay monthly so.

Any good ones that actually work? Each one I try, they work and start getting credits. Then they just stop giving me credits after.

I think a lot of private servers are this way, but for some games there are ridiculously legit and populated servers out there. The one I'm thinking of for Ultima Online has been around for years without any legal issues, and if they are making money through donations, I don't see it going anywhere. I won't link or anything since it's against the rules, but legitimate private servers (that are sometimes even better than the official servers) definately exist.

There are plenty of crappy ones to though lol.

Well there's a few, but you need to be at a certain amount to remove your money, so your probably faster begging in the streets :P.

AW surveys works, but it takes ages

When global agenda comes out, i'll see if it has any private servers. If I cant run it that is.

we will rarely see private servers for P2P games because they're making most the files server sided now days

You can either play F2P MMO/MMORPGs, that basically allow you to play for free, but offer premium paid items in exchange. Or you can play in those private servers that you are talking about, but I wouldn't recommend those either because they usually lag a lot and they are not worth it - too few players on them. Can't compare to WOW (off servers)
