First: http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

ANYTHING you need to know about any character is there. It also has lists of comics, comic covers (So you know what you're looking for) etc. Search for any character you're interested in. There's even an "Ask a Contributor" section, so you may get recommendations that way.

Spider-Man, given that he's been around SO LONG, is hard to collect. If you're not really looking to collect, you can just get the trade paperbacks of certain stories. The Essential... series is best for non-completist collectors. However, get Maximum Carnage or the Clone Saga A.S.A.P.

Elektra has always been part of some good stories involving The Punisher and Daredevil during his darker times. Those are kind of grittier characters. Frank Miller (Sin City, 300, The Dark Knight Returns) really brought a grittier, mysterious side to Daredevil and Elektra during his run. Culminating in the incredible Born Again storyline (Which didn't feature Elektra, but was amazing).

As for X-Men, you're better off getting some of the trade paperbacks, or in the event that certain stories are not available in that format, buying the issues (eBay is GOLDEN for that stuff).

Do you buy stuff online? If so, I'll link you to some purchases.

Never been a big X-Men reader, but I like a few stories.

I'll make it point by point, better that way than writting a lot

Quote:
What comics do you read or, if you got into comics, WOULD you be interested in?
right now, I'm being cosmic, waiting for Nova 27 and Guardians of the Galaxy 16 also waiting for War of kings conclussion, wanna know what's the outcome between Black bolt and vulcan

also reading JMS Thor's run, and waiting for Hulk 600 for Loebs crap charade to finish and pak retaking the title in 601, also reading everything concerning Skaar son of hulk and for world war hulk persona to finally face his son

also catching Dark avengers and getting Dark X-men in a near future, finally ended reading messiah complex (the cable and x-force tie in), but also always read X-force, it's a pretty awesome group

Deadpool it's picking my fancy too, left it up at deadpool 11 and waiting for the final fight between Deadpool and Bullseye, also recently picked up Deadpool Merc with a mouth, but I didn't like it as much as I should

reading ultimatum too, but just "because", jeph loeb just butchered the whole thing but I want to see how all that crap ends

concerning DC right today I'm picking Green lantern 43 and ansiously waiting for Final crisis Legion of 3 worlds 5, that's about it for all I care in DC

Quote:
Which comics DON'T you like?
most of DC really, aside from some tie ins and stuff like the blackest night, there's really nothing there that picks my taste

Quote:
Why? (To either)
I don't know, perhaps I never got attached to DC as much as I did to marvel, that and I like Marvel characters more, perhaps that's the main reason

Quote:
If comics interest you, why? If not, why not?
I grew reading comics, my first one was a latin translation of X-men when I was 7 years old and from there I just kept wanting to read "graphical" stories

Quote:
What got you into comics if you are a fan?
well, my imagination it's like that, I love reading stuff that picks said imagination, I like reading and writting stories (for myself tho), and pretty much it's the taste I came to develop since I played stuff like Atari games and all that "scene" since I was like 4 year old

Way to be a bandwagoner, V-Op.

March, I actually have the Avengers #1. Cost me £238, very fine condition. That's because the chick was selling her ex-boyfriend's comics out of spite, but still managed to realise it was worth a bit. She could have sold it for a couple hundred more if she knew.

How is War of Kings? I'll probably grab the T.P.B. if I get enough good feedback on it.

Merc with a Mouth was funny, but it was more like Deadpool-for-Internet-Fans. He was written to appeal to newbies. I'll keep buying it, but I hope it doesn't last too long, really. The main run, Way's run, is very good. Not great, but good. I am looking forward to see Deadpool's stories take a better turn when Dark Reign is over, not that they're not good now. I just think he's a character who needs his own stories, not to be just involved in others.

Wow, I'm jealous. I "pretty much" (re: Uncle) have a Tales of Suspense #39, the only thing I have worth talking about really.

(off topic) How ya been?

well yeah sure, loeb had great stories in the past, his batman issues and hulk: gray were great, but I don't know, I guess the guy lost his mojo with hulk and Ultimate universe

and recently pak has proven to be an incredible writter with the whole Skaar story on earth, all I'm waiting it's for loeb's run to be over in 600 so I can consider that whole "hulk/red hulk" saga non-cannon and keep up with pak

it's getting great, tho sometimes the line of dialogues can seem to be "off" with the characters personality, but it's good anyway, the thing I like it's how Nova, GotG and Talon plays big roles in there (talon most of it), I recommend it personally since it has great story development

oh and guardians of the galaxy it's like...well, it's Adam warlock in there and the plot concerning his current existence it's getting interesting, if you like Adam warlock character like I do you'll find GoTG to be cool

yeah, same here, merc with a mouth it's funny, but like you say, it's a different approach from the Deadpool main run, which reminds me I gotta get suicide kings, it's been a month since and I haven't read it yet
