You've captivated me :P
If you're not a total completist, you can just get into a series of your choice and then buy the trade paperback every few months. For example, if you read Iron Man, you can wait a while and then Marvel release a compilation book of like the last five issues or something.

Also, Marvel.Com, for a price, gives you access to thousands and thousands of comics online. Kind of like iTunes for comics.

Message me on A.I.M. sometime and then I can get an idea of what you're into and recommend something suited to you.

Comics don't have much of an appeal to me. If I want a story line + stunning graphics I would probably look to lengthy graphic novels.
Actually I'm interested in writing one. c:

I read a few X-Men comics when I was younger, never got too into it.

Btw Norrin, your signature is hilarious, both the picture and quote.

no desire to read em, if i read its something i want to learn about. Ive been readin alot of religious books lately to learn about religions. i find Comics to be a waste of time, but they are still cool. if i did read one it would be X-men or something that i have seen movie for.

I don't get why people feel you can't learn from comics.

Watchmen can teach you as many things as most books.

Graphic novels are comics. Same thing.

They're essentially the equal of movies. If regular comics are a series, that is.

I've read loads of X-Men and have a huge collection in my basement. I plan to either keep them or sell 'em on EBay.

I read heavily into Marvel, and lightly into DC. I don't quite know why that is, but if I had to guess it would be that DC has this air of realism with the majority of it's super powered. Marvel feels like it has less limitations on their characters, and I like the over the top stuff.

For the time being, I'm re-reading The Hellfire Club (I wonder why..<3) and getting ready to go to San Diego in a couple of weeks.

I'm..not going to get too deep into anything. Otherwise this'll turn into an essay.

I use to read Star wars comics, only for the battle bits though.

Too much text. :[

If it isn't my favourite female comic reader. Don't forget my request regarding Comic Con!

I feel the entire opposite with Marvel/DC, actually. Marvel have a well balanced mix of realistic unrealism, where as DC tend to not interest me much.

P.S: HAVE YOU HEARD WHAT THEY'RE DOING WITH EMMA FROST? Epic, trust me.

I prettymuch meant, graphic novels would be the type I'd read vs. "regular" comics as a whole.

Movies are a good analogy, 'cause I'd see general comics like a TV show. I don't think I'd bother to follow short "episodes" of a continuous series.
