Default Comics: Do You Read Them?

I wanted to be productive when creating this thread out of a challenge, so let's see if we have any other fans here.

What comics do you read or, if you got into comics, WOULD you be interested in?

Which comics DON'T you like?

Why? (To either)

If comics interest you, why? If not, why not?

What got you into comics if you are a fan?

Really? Does it really reveal that?

I could have sworn that's Wolverine #154, and I could have sworn The Scourge witnessed him taking out Wolverine and dragging him to the Watchtower. Deadpool has a history of doing rather well against Wolverine, even in his own comic.

However, since you love judging books by their covers:

Wolverine #88, synopsis:

"Arriving in San Francisco to check up on Kane (aka Weapon X) for Guardian, what Logan encounters in Kane's apartment is Deadpool who tries to kill Logan immediately upon entrance. After trading a few slices with each other (Logan with his claws and Deadpool with his swords), Deadpool manages to take out Logan with his sword and leaving Logan to die, heads out to locate Kane and kill him.".

Wolverine hasn't ever defeated Deadpool outright. He puts up great fights sometimes, they've stalemated, but Deadpool has victories over him.

Hell, what's another scan gonna hurt?

Sorry, how rude of me. You were saying something about Wolverine handing Deadpool his a*s?

I like comics because of the art.

Story wise, donno, I never read them xd. . . if they look nicely drawn, I buy'em.

The old AVP comics, spawn, and vampirilia (However that is spelled), belong to my favorites.....

I don't. I would LOVE to start reading comics...it seems like a really fun hobby...

But every time I've ever went into the local comic store its full of elitist assholes.

Its not a hobby you can really be new to :/

I never liked Spawn story wise, but Todd McFarlane is ok by me. Pretty sure he's ok by anyone.

If you love the art, you should look into buying some of the 'Nuff Said series. It's basically a series where Marvel challenges its artists to tell an entire story with nothing but pictures.

By definition it IS an elitist interest, but people can tend to be assholes. Though, you've gotta understand why. Comics were frowned upon for ages, and now everyone wants to be a part of the family. Naturally we're going to have a bit of an "Oh, so we're cool enough now, are we?" air about us.

I'd be glad to write you some recommendations, sir.

The reason I like comics is because I enjoy the fusing of literature and art. When I am looking to get into a new series I either get grabbed by the cover art or by a writer who's work I've liked in the past.

Cool cover art is what got me into comics in the 1st place. I was just a little kid wandering through a book store and saw the cover of a Street Fighter 2 comic and bought it. From then I've branched out into collecting Trade paperbacks and manga, leaving me with this.

I figured that was why. I've always been interested, but never have been close enough to a shop until recently.

I'd like some recommendations. Preferably something relatively new, so I don't have to go insane trying to get back issues...for now anyway. I know that is part of the fun, but I'd like to just get a feel for it first.

You've captivated me :P

For the record...I had Ninja Turtles comics way back in the day. I was always pissed because they were hard to find and I couldn't ever follow the story line like I would of liked to.
