As I grew up in real life, my MMOS also grew with me.

First I used to love cutish games like Trickster, Seal, Domo, Luna.

After playing those kind of game for about 1 year or such I no longer got attracted for its kind, get easily bored.

Then I started to play cartoon games and didnt bother about its cuteness, games like MapleStory, Ragnarok, Lunia...

And now, after I came back after a half year quit, to try playing MMOs again, I see all those kind of games doesn't attract me anymore, games like Maple, Latale, Luna, ECO, Flyff and etc, I dont feel like playing them...

But, I feel the urge to play Rappelz, 2Moons, SOTNW, Lineage2, Rohan... mostly "Grown Ups" Games...

What about you, didnt you always had the same taste on MMOs or did it changed as you grew up?

I've always preferred the more cartoony and anime-ish mmos. all the games with more "serious" graphics don't interest me. then again, most of them are crappy games anyway...(I'm looking at you, Perfect World and Cronous...)

I love me some Cute-y anime-y games. However... I love the gameplay in the serious ones(WoW, RoM, WAR, Etc.)

If only they combined them T^T.

the graphics dont matter for me
i prefer a good gameplay before graphics
so good gameplay + "grown ups"/cartoon/cutish whatever > good to me

bad gameplay , grind , lack of content + "grown ups"/cartoon/cutish whatever > buuuuuuu , i dont like that

I didn't. But that's because I don't relate growing up to staying away from things considered "childish". My gaming behavior did change. I no longer have the time to grind for hours and hours without seeing any advancement in my character.

i grew up playing Everquest and helbreath(along with PSO on seganet) i can play RO just fine, graphics don't bother me, its the community and gameplay that keep me coming back for more.

First mmo I played was Tibia(think that counts) I'd probably still play tibia if it weren't for the grind/pkers(cause playing PvE is useless on there, cause then you'll be bored later), and most pservers are weird for that game.
Then my uncle showed me the glorious game, Phantasy Star Online.
I played it as often as I could, since he was the one with the DC. Then it was on the GC, then i played BB, then SCHThack, THEN I played it's younger brother, Phantasy Star Universe.(clocked in 728 hours in PSU alone)

And throughout my time playing them, I was constantly looking for others that were good, only other "mmo" I enjoyed for a fair amount of time was guildwars.

well PSO did release before PSU so yeah if you consider PSU as PSO's younger brother
