Can you picture yourself at the age of 14? With a huge man with an intimidating face asking you questions. I wouldn't care if it was a cop or not I would be ****en scared of this big dude who is trained to subdue or even kill people is talking to me. Who wouldn't run from that? His face may not be intimidating but the uniform and his gitup itself causes you to be paranoid.

She is 14 years old, not 8. She's not that LITTLE and I'm sure she's seen much more intimidating things than a cop. At 14 years of age I'd have KNOWN not to run from a police officer, that running only makes shit worse (You even see it on TV for **** sakes) and that it's pointless to run either way because he'll end up catching you eventually. I wouldn't have done such a thing especially infront of a Police Station. I don't condone the officers methods in dealing with the situation, but from the way I see it, it's not his fault.

no, she is 14 and about to get in trouble with cops, after alrdy being upset, there is no doubt she was scared, running made sense (even at 18 i would be scared, but not run, but im not everyone). im sure tons of ppl run from the cops everyday and they dont get tased or shot in the head. he seriously cant just catch a 14 year old? there are so many more ways to deal with catching someone im sure. she's not a grown man u dont just tase a kid like that.
but im not completely blaming it on him, of course she is at fault also. but once again its a scary situation and thats human nature. different ppl react in different ways. i hope punishments arent too bad for either of them though. |

He warned her about the taser too, apparently, but she decided to keep going even after the warning.

he pulled out a tase gun and she got scared and kept running according to the article, natural reaction. she should have stopped and heeded the warning yes, but not everyone reacts correctly in all situations, especially when scared of getting shot. i just dont think it should have ever come down to using the taser. there has to be better ways to deal with someone running. ppl run from the cops prolly more than anything else they deal with. |
