pretty basic premise. The year is 1890 in England. A noble of no small wealth, John Devlin, has brought you, a team of people with some experience with the paranormal and dealing with it in some way, together to try to discover what happened to his sister some 20 years ago, while she was staying in their ancestral manor, Devlin House.
You are all seated in a carriage from the nearest town out to the manor. It is dark and stormy outside, and the cabby, a weatherworn man with dark hair, is sullen and silent, concentrating on finding the path through the rocky land. note: if I invited you pm me a character description and history. none of the other players will see it.

The storm outside was merciless. It pounded against the side of the carriage without a pause. The steady beat of rain was like a mesmerizing drum, slowly taking me into the void of my mind.
I tried not to listen to the group of people sitting around me. After noticing their auras, my staff was an ember in my palm, but that heat meant awareness. My thoughts had started to drown me when I saw this group of people. It could not have been a coincidence that every one of them matched the only memory that I was sure was truly mine. Entranced by that thought, I let myself be consumed. The Void: a trick I taught myself to help me concentrate. Everything seemed to skitter across it. Emotion, senses, all of it was distant while in the Void. I was an empty shell. Time seemed to pass faster while in the Void because I was jerked out of it when the carriage suddenly came to a halt. |
