Still remember Age of Conan, the former highest anticipated MMORPG, which was considered as the hopeful World of Warcraft Killer? Also known for the day by day recession after the release, however, Funcom announced earlier today, he has come back.
"For anyone with an inactive account who ever thought about giving it another try, this is your chance,” said Morten Larssen, vice-president of Sales and Marketing at Funcom. “After the hugely successful launch last year we immediately started working on updates that would make the game better and provide more content for players, and that is what we have been doing this past year. With the most recent update just out the door, this is the time to ask players to come back and see the results!" The re-evaluation offer is valid from July 8 to July 22 and is open to anyone with a closed account in good standing. Reactivating at any time within this period will open the account for two weeks of free play. There are no costs associated with this offer or any subscription obligations. "It has been quite a journey for the entire team getting to where we are today,” said game director on Age of Conan Craig Morrison. “I think that players have always seen the great potential in Age of Conan and we have put a lot of effort into realising that potential. The game has improved tremendously since launch and we look forward to having players come back and seeing the changes for themselves!" Reported by [Videogamer.com] -------------------------------Anonymous comment available, please say something----------------------------------------- To be honest, Age of Conan is not bad, actually a kick-*** game with stunning graphic and promising features like combat skills, I think the reason why it failed to win a fan base is being compared with World of Warcraft. Maybe it was a good idea to get the game well and widely promoted, but with such a high risk of pulling itself down on the other hand. Funcom requests another chance now, well, shall we? |

Everyone already knows about this....
And when did Funcom ever compare themselves to World of Warcraft? I'm almost positive it was the player base or some rabbid fanboys whom said "OMG this is going to kick WoW's ***!". And in truth, it should have. But there are a few problems: 1. Not everyone's computer can run it. 2. Too many bugs/glitches (at launch). 3. Bad reputation and people unwilling to give it a chance. If it weren't for those it would have seriously given WoW a run for it's money. But I'm kinda rambling here, go play the game.
