Runes of Magic gets my vote!

If you like being killed by mobs that are the same level, lower, or higher than you because they are overpowered, then go with 4Story.

i just started playing RoM and I am loving it. The community (at least in Grimdal) is so friendly and entertaining in the zone chat.

I helped some people kill the Bear King outside of town and as if it wasn't enjoyable enough, I got the title "Master of the Bear King" to use as I please.

I haven't even bothered with crafting yet, as it doesn't interest me that much and I hear its kind of useless.

The thing that REALLY sold me on RoM were the elite skills. I saw the dual-class system and I thought, "oh thats just like guild wars, not interested." Then i read about elite skills. Skills that only a certain combo has access to.

For instance, a warrior/mage has access to skills that imbue the weapon with fire and electricity(wind). A mage cannot use light spells on its own, and niether can a knight. A mage/knight however, can use offensive holy spells that NO other class combo can use.

It really adds a lot of customization to the character classes.

The housing system is great too. Some furniture is from quest rewards, some you can buy with diamonds/tokens.

I can't say much about the cash shop dependency, but I can say that it has a system like the MTS in maplestory. You can put an item you find up and people can buy it with either gold or diamonds(the item shop currency)

How dependent is Runes on crafting/collecting and such?

I might give the game another go if it's not 'required'. I have a severe dislike for gardening, chopping wood, and hard labor. If I wanted to do that I'd go outside.

Yeah, it really is surprising for a server that's full of jackasses - I've found the exact opposite and have always been able to get help from people - especially high levels to kill bosses and stuff.

The red asshole twink people probably account for 1-2% of the server.

I'm one of the good guys who's helping out the n00bs and killing reds myself, I can't wait to be 50/50 and to be able to wipe out some griefers.

If you ever need help, just hit me up in-game or on xfire.

You mean don't roll on the PVP server? See what I said above.

You can craft as much or as little as you want. My gathering skills are all levels 10-13, I couldn't be bothered getting them higher than that - because I don't enjoy crafting/gathering typically in games - it's not for me. But I'm not at a disadvantage for not getting it higher. You'll probably have a quest that will have you go chop 5 blocks of wood or something, but it's not forced on you.

I played rom but stopped for some reason, i found the crafting to be almost useless, but in every game except runescape crafting is almost useless.

I had a lvl 20 knight/mage fun time. (can still have it to play with you if i can remember my account :P)

Just out of curiosity is being 50 on your secondary useful yet? Back when I played there was essentially no reason to go above 50/30(or 35?)(the last elite hybrid skill) you could get. The 10% stat boost thing was just lame..

Yeah it all depends on your combo and what skills you wanna use.

You don't even have to pick a secondary class if you don't want to.
