Thumbs up Anrick's tips on how to stick to a game for more than 1 week.

Well I see plenty of topics here of people who doesnt stick to a game for a long time, and end up here spamming and asking for new games because they are bored. Ill here tell you guys some tips that I joined together from my own experience of rage quitting games, and they were a good thing because now I cant stick up to a game as long as I want, without getting bored.

So here I tell you some tips, I hope you guys use it and like it:

#1 - And most important, you don't "NEED" to play a game, you WANT to play it, you will lose nothing if you don't, you will win nothing if you do (unless you play poker online then you will lose your familly, car and dog) put that in mind, it will be the fundamental step for you to be able to follow all the other tips.

#2 - When creating a character, or choosing its job, don't follow trends, and also, don't let you get affected by some kind of "underground syndrome". In other words, don't play the most used class neither the less used, play something you know you will have fun. For me, example giving, are fast characters, if I play something slow, even if its overpowered, I will get bored instantaly.

#3 - DO NOT FOLLOW GUIDES, it will make the game mechanical. You will soon lose interest on the game if you follow every guide you see, you will keep doing the same thing over and over, following something, you will know what you gonna do on the next level, on the next 10 levels, when you reach max level. It makes it boring. Of course, you can look on guides sometimes to not mess up your build or to discover where something is or wich monster drops it, but do not FOLLOW one. Always kept wondering on why the older games kept you attracted for longer times? Theres a 70% chance of being because you didn't have a guide to follow. Surprise is one of the most fun factors in games. Some people do not even answer to greetings from other players, because there is no answer on the guide.

#4 - IF YOU ARE BORED OF GRINDING, hunt higher level monsters. Ok, I know that if you kill 500 "Cute teddy bears" or 250 "Pink little doll" will be more eficient and make you level faster, less expensive and easier than killing 1 "Infernal Giant Flying Bloody Axe Wielding OX", but Im sure that killing the last one will get you WAY MORE fun, and challanges like that will make you stick up with a game.

#5 - MAKE FRIENDS, that the most important thing, friends will chat and make you go trought the game without even seeing the time pass. If your friend starts power leveling and the game gets boring with him, make new friends, and gather with your new friend and PK the older friend, so he learns not to overlevel you by playing 24/7. It will be hella fun PKing with your new friend.

#6 - DO NOT, NEVER, PLAY 24/7 OR EVEN 12/7 STRAIGHT. Give the game a break, play it until you are having fun, after you get bored, just stop, go outside, or even open another game. If you insist playing something just for the levels, you will quit it soon.

#7 - KILL BOSSES, DO HARD QUESTS, CRAFT, do anything that will get you a exclusive or rare item, that you can show up to everyone, and say "HAHA, I HAVE IT, YOU DON'T". Trust me, My cuirasser set, the only one on the whole server, was the thing holding me on goonzu for 4 months, until everyone got one and then here were no fun on showing up my cool knight armor.

#8 - DO NOT STAY AT THE SAME PLACE FOR HOURS. I know it was already said but this is important, don't hunt 1 billion slimes just to level up, move constantly, after you get bored, move to another map, keep moving and killing, it will be a slower level, but a funner gaming.

Last, and not least - DO NOT USE HACKS. Don't see any fun on standing next to a machine watching the computer to do all the job to you. None at all.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

A GREAT set of tips, and i found this one to be somewhat true. While i leveled in WoW i followed a guide.Up until lvl 70 it was good, leveling was fast moving around etc,but once i started going to 80,since its a bit harder,it started to get dull.So i reached lvl 75,got bored and stopped playing.I guess it was probably cuz you remained at one place for like 2-3 lvls or so...Overall grat tips here, and +rep from me.

Meh...If I can't play the game for the whole day and not grow sick of it then I might as well not play it, why prolong it? O.o Plus there are games that you'll like so much you'll play for several days for most of the day and such and all of that and yeah but

Good job

+rep, Jeez if I ever want rep I know what to do. Can this get a sticky please?

Anyway, rules 2 and 3 are the best. I used to always follow a guide for leveling and character creating. I'm playing DDO now and I am not even paying much attention to how I make my guy. I just go with what I think is best.

My idea would be not to play games that are so boring you have to follow a guide to stick to them.
