Actually (and this is just my expierience) when I play as a girl i dont get stalked or harassed or anything. The only thing most like that is I said 'Hi' and some buy said 'Hi' back then asked me on a DD (date dungeon). But i guess really that my point is, even tho I play as a girl character quite a bit I have never been harrased or heard of anyone being harrased. The one time that I was found out to be a guy they just kinda asked 'Why?' and I said 'Idk', case closed.

I can't agree with the newsletter.
Actually, I always play with a girl character. So, we dont use girl character, just because we want items, or we want to be treated as a womens, or we want to pull out our girlier part. It is a simple thing what every man should understand: We prefer watching girl's ***, rather than man's. Just think about it, you're going to play with that game, not just one or two week, but maybe one year so, you should make a character what you like. Of course there are players who say, that they cant feel as they are in that game, if the character is girl. Thats correct too. But RPG rule number 1: dont play a character whats you. play a character whats different from you, thats the real challenge, and the real fun! So I don't think u should blame, critize ppl who like playing with girl. Just they are enjoying the game different ways from you. |

I agree honyatan, but that just wasn't the purpose of my article (although the "skin exposure" part, was meant to address exactly what you said). There was in fact a few parts relating to your comment in the full-length article, but it was cut in order to fit more properly in the newsletter.
Thanks so much for commenting :]! |

Are you guys really this desperate for something to write that you feel the need to start kicking this dead dog again?
This is not new, its is not news, it is not original, and it was entirely undeserving of a newsletter, not to mention its at least 5 years out of date and totally inaccurate. Times are changing, but apparently you guys don't bother doing your due diligence and researching your story before you post it. More and more girls are becoming avid gamers, conservative estimates now place the ratios around 60% male 40% female, but some independent studies now show more girls gaming that guys. When you take into account there are currently more women in the world than men, and that gender lines have virtually fallen apart during our generation, it would be simple logic to believe there would be more girls gaming than guys. Stir in an economy in chaos and the need for cheap entertainment. Dose it all with the new teen girl formula.. "Games = boys + twitter = boyfriend." I have 2 teenage daughters JV cheerleaders, and avid gamers, trust me on this all the girls are talking about this or that cute guy they met in this or that game. My last three guilds across three different games ( WoW, Lotro, and now Aion ) have all had more girls that guys. This goes triple for Lotro, with a ration of 4 girls for every guy in our guild. Maybe your story should be how most male gamers are so totally and completely pathetic that they think a female avatar equals a hook up. |

I have friended some of these Grandmothers in my game playing and it is very funny to witness a player asking them for a date. It surprises me that there are men who play as females in a game. I never thought of playing as a male. |

I know, haha, the one part that was dedicated to "more women playing MMOs" was cut from the article. Thanks for the feedback! It was much less factual than humorous... definitely.
Gaming grandmothers, huh? I appreciate you bringing that up! I'm going to look into it. ^-^ Last edited by Jammart; 07-23-2009 at 11:17 PM. |
