TBH I want to vote negative for all the Narutos & One Piece, but a lot of you seem to like those kinds of anime I spose.

Here's some popular ones just cause of TV but I'd say popular animes are still a must to know bout.

For movies anything from that Spirited Away guy is def good.

Oh yeah, and Grave of the Fireflies need to be up there. Another one of those heartbreak films.

Another series that just popped up is Now and Then, Here and There. Great series that doesn't run on too long, but just long enough to get its message across. Also kids with guns.
