Default Korean vs Japanese MHFO?

I used to hog my friend's PSP a couple years ago to play the first Monster Hunter. I recently found MHFO while looking up the upcoming Wii game that a fellow gaming community member mentioned to me on Ventrilo.

My question is which is better to play on, the Korean or Japanese version? I registered an account through hangame, but it was on the japanese site. I'm assuming that this means its a japanese game account, and not sure if its usable on the Korean version which, as far as I remember reading, uses hangame.

Also, is the region only thing just for the Japan version, or do you need to set up a proxy connection on the Korean version as well?

I've looked at quite a few topics on this already, but either I've missed the information to answer my questions or it just wasn't there.

I have a msn messenger ID if anyone would want to help me set up an account and proxy to play with everyone depending on which version I play on.

Thanks for any answers and/or help in advance,
Mautty

Korean version is free to play, while the Japanese version is pay to play with a free trial.

Korean version required a KSSN, while the Japanese version only has a code verification.

Note the Japanese version requires a VPN, due to outside ip's being banned.

Summary: Korean free, but harder to register, no vpn needed.

Oh, so technically I would be committing identity fraud by putting in a false KSSN because its a Korean Social Security Number correct?

And a VPN is a Virtual Private Network? I know nothing about those beyond the name.

both of those are very easy to obtain, though one of them will fine you for 8000 dollars.

Alright so...you're saying unless I wan't to potentially be in debt $8,000 for a crime then I should go with the VPN...which would be the Japanese version correct?

It's not so bad unless you're actually living in Korea. ㅎㅅㅎ;

Yea but...signing up for the Korean version would mean making up a KSSN and possibly getting into legal issues wouldn't it?

I've made over 20 netmarble accounts, and 3 hangames accounts, so I would say the chances of getting in trouble are really low.

TBH I would say go for the korean version. Why would you pay to play Japanese version, when you can do free to play korean version?

lol I have seen lagmaster videos of MHFO Kr.... so its just as bad with the VPN, of course only with the right VPN

and no, in MHFO Japan outside IPs are not banned.

If you want to support and go on the legit side, join MHFO Japan.
the VPN is not necessary if you got a Boradband connection.(with a few exceptions of course)

I play it and I don't mind putting down a few $ a month for it.
