That's all good and fine, but they are still crappier games. Stop apologizing for F2P games because they have smaller manpower and a lower budget. If you give DDO a 9/10 and LOTRO a 9/10 but say "one is on the F2P scale and one is on the P2P scale" you're just going to confuse the hell out of people.

This whole argument is moot anyway because DDO is a P2P that is going F2P. So it did have the budget and the resources of a P2P game.

Since when is one sentence over-complicating something? Is there seriously a problem with saying a game is more like Guild Wars than a normal MMORPG? It conveys the point and its something that people are interested in knowing. You're the one arguing "semantics."

Wall of text is fairly annoying but you could still just write a very long review and use less of the longer words.

No review is balanced no matter how hard you try.
Lol, I write one review and now you lump me in with some supposedly evil group of reviewers. Did you even read what my comment was in response to? I was accused of giving a crappy review because I didn't talk about great feature A and cool thing B and wonderful gameplay aspect C. Like I said, the job of a review is not to outline every single detail of a game. It's to give people a general idea of what the game is like and what the reviewer's opinions are so they can decide if they want to try it themselves. Also, I'm sorry I use long words.

Just because no review is perfectly balanced it doesn't mean we should all give up and write either fanboy praise or angry rants.

I run the game on max settings for everything at 1920x1080. I said the graphics looked, and I quote, "somewhat outdated." I don't see why you people are trying to argue with my subjective opinion. Get off my *** already.

Very true, I didn't think of that.

Saying it is more like guild wars is not symantics, claiming it is not a real mmorpg is and that is where it gets confusing calling guild wars instance based mmo, then having to find a cutoff limit for max allowed players to truly catagorize if it is an "instance" or a "raid" or a "playfield" or whatever.

No I never referred to them as evil, I just think they overcomplicated the reviewing process is all and can end up confusing the reader instead of dazzling them...you shouldn't remake your review just because people didn't like it. Of course there's going to be a rather large crowd that hates your review(s), reviews are always biased and you cannot change that unless you somehow program a robot to list facts about the game and scale it somehow.

Alright, I guess this fits in with the whole biased thing I was talking about, I was just arguing my side of this and I suppose I won't try to convince you otherwise I'm just letting you know that the graphics were updated within the past year.

Well, whatever it may be what I was trying to do was just define the game in a way that people would understand. It's not a perfect definition.

Well I'm not remaking it, I'm just arguing with people who dislike it . I see your point though. It's stupid of me to try and argue with people about my own opinions. The review is there and it speaks for itself

I'm running it on fairly high settings as well, but my character looks like he is wearing play-dough on his head. Aside from that though, I would have to say the graphics are not bad, considering the game came out a while ago. Just because it says it uses some direct x10 effects doesn't mean it will look as good as any other direct x10 game, and it doesn't.

neverthless, it is worth every penny

(and it was developed as a P2P, not a F2P, so don't bring that argument up. It only switched payment models, it is not remaking the game only with less funding.)

come play with me. I just started!

I like how people make assumptions based on what they think they know. So, you know they are lowering the funding on the DDO services when moving it to a F2P model?

So, F2P = less service? Sounds like the ignorant attempts to prevail.

Do you know how much $$ they made off of microtransactions already? Do you know how much more money a well ran F2P makes compared to your avg P2P? The avg is 7 times more that your typical P2P.

Sorry, your assumption is wrong on so many levels. F2P does not mean less quality of service and game.

Also, are you sure you are pushing your graphics. Cause what I read is poor graphics card produce poor effects.

The graphics when pushed to full are very close to LoTRo. I dont what you are using, nor the OP of this thread, but these graphics are better than 95% of the graphics that are around in the MMORPG busness.

Sorry, but fail is fail.

I didn't say that? I didn't mention service at all in the first place. I was saying it was developed as a P2P game, thus making it higher quality than most F2P games that developed as a F2P game. I don't really care about what kind of service they offer unless I end up paying money for it

I don't know how much money they are making off of the cash shop. I can assume it is not very much because they keep sending me tons of free turbine points

Yes, the graphics are some of the best available in MMORPGs currently, but some of us don't limit ourselves to only playing MMOs. Compared to any of the more recent games released for PC, you have to admit that the graphics in DDO look dated, comparatively. If not, then you must be some kind of horribly biased MMO fanboy

Dated? You put it on max, used directX 10? So, multilayer lighting, ambient lighting, and then ...

How many use this to date? There are only 3 or 4 MMORPGs that use that right now. TBH, its just started to be used in MMORPGs. Its outdated?

So, how many things do you look at to consider it outdated. So far, you only look at the surface. Cause if you break down everything used, this use of graphics has just begun in MMORPGs.

Were you raised on bloom graphics? If so, I see the problem.

Because you wrote a review of a game, placed your name on it and posted it on a forum (OnRPG of all places). If you don't want people to argue with your "subjective opinion", you made a big mistake, bucko.

You didn't seem to read what I wrote up there.

but anyway, I made a paladin. Deleted my ranger because I didn't really like using the bow, I was going to wait until I found a crossbow, but I found I liked being melee.
