I didn't like Oblivion very much, though. The main story wasn't very interesting, and there weren't very many enemies around, so there wasn't a lot of combat to keep things interesting.

Since people have touched on most of the really good ones can i suggest Fate?
It is basically like Diablo but with vibrant graphics and a 20 dollar price tag for the game and it's expansions bundled. It also has a big community with plenty of mods. |

And it's pretty much impossible not to die in Morrowind at least once. The enemies don't scale to your level, they just stay where they are until you show up and try their hardest to rape you. Seriously, you can be level 1 and fight a level 90 enemy if you really wanted to.

Fallout 1 & 2 (Because even though you have a decent laptop, Fallout 3 is out of the question)
Planescape: Torment Grim Fandango Sid Meier's Pirates! S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: (Either one) I'm also going to recommend that you give Oblivion another shot, I'm not quite sure what you found boring about it, because the story is pretty good in my opinion, and I've never found a lack of combat. If you think you were bored because there was nothing to do that simply means you didn't look. Oblivion isn't the type of game where it holds your hand the entire time, it gives you alot of freedoms, and I recommend you give it another go. Deus Ex. everyone MUST play this game. It's required by the American Constitution. (J/k for people who don't like jokes..) Half Life 1 & 2 Far Cry F.E.A.R. SWAT 4 DUKE NUKEM 3D Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 Command & Conquer: Renegade DOOM 3 Indigo Prophecy Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (This is another game I recommend everyone should play) Thief 1, 2, or 3 There's so many more, I just don't feel like typing anymore.... |
