Default Idea to promote people to post in MMO request sections.

Work it out like Yahoo Answers, best answer gets voted by the requester and other users who vote it as the best answer. Certain amounts of votes and points gets you a special badge near your name, and maybe some exclusive section, or something of the such.

That's pretty complicated just to do especially for that one section.
There is a Rep system helpful posters usually are rewarded with already.

It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, just store the username in a mysql database with the number of best answers, then use an if...elseif...else statement for the title.

Complicated as in just messy. Why give only one section special voting, titles, points, badges, exclusive section awards? - A bit overkill.
There is a reputation system for a reason to 'reward' each other for good posts.

It is an interesting idea sure, but as `doll stated its not as easy as just plopping some code in and hoping for the best. The way plugins interact with vbulletin is different, as it is for most forums. What is being asked for is not something that could be done over night and at the same time we need to ask ourselves if it is something really necessary.

The problem in this case is that it is simply opinion, and even then the most "voted" answer may be a game that the OP doesn't even like. What we have to do is find a way were multiple users could possible request the same thing and then have a few options supplied to them all. Again this in itself is no easy task as well.

Forgot about plugins. Been a while since I have worked with a CMS.

I still want to do something with the request section as it doesn't really serve its purpose, but it needs to be something more practical.

The best thing you can do is merging it, because people will not just hop over there, because the free mmorpg section is just way too popular.
