On maple europe you dont need to be lvl20 to become a cygnus knight its at lvl10

That's just the thing; it's basic. It's just damage increase and reduction. No burn effects, save for Flame Curtain and Flamethrower. There used to be a shortage of lightning weak monsters. WKs/Paladins and Mages are all pretty bad on neutral monsters until endgame; it's too restricting.

i dont know about maple globol but on maple europe the first 200 people to get to lvl20 got 3k maple points and the first 400 people to get to lvl 40 got 6k maple points

qft. It's basic, just TOO BASIC. If you use the right element, you hit higher. You use the wrong element, you hit lower. There's nothing to it, except poison... poisons, and ice... freezes. That's about it.

to add to ben and kel, its horrendsuly bland.

there are no added effects, nothing to make the element special, save freeze's freeze.

The elements are just... elements. Its just underwhelming.

Im planning on giving away 10mill on Demethos server cause im getting bored of Maplestory since my friends wont login anymore . I won't be giving it away so easily though . Anyone want to play a game for the money?

Most games are like that though and in a game like MS without PVP, all elemental resistances do is determine where you'll be training. In a way, the resistances keep some jobs from hogging all of the best areas to train by spreading where people should be training. Despite the fact there was a lack of lit weak monsters, there's still plenty of lit vulnerable ones which is fine since lit is a mobbing skill, they still level fast.

As far as WK's go, they are warriors so they'll do decent damage regardless of not having the elemental boosts provided you have decent gear. That's pretty much the case with any job except slingers who really do fail till endgame, then own.

Very few games actually have a decent elemental system anyway. Most games it's just increased/reduced damage from a certain element. I do agree though it's a bit bland and I would like to see a larger variety in the types of elements and effects, but if it gets too complex then people will most likely just complain and stick with what they know anyway.

Imagine MS where you had the kind of elemental types and susceptibilities as the SMT series (weak, vulnerable, strong, null, reflect, drain) and could inflict a status effect with elements (if it could be done, that would be a damn good game). One of the major burdens on the developers would be monster placement, especially in a 2D game. Not only that, the more in depth you make the elemental system, the harder it is to balance in terms of usefulness and power. In a way, I can see why MS and other games use such a simple system, even if it is a bit boring or unoriginal.
