Okay, I am going to ask a question and I want a straightforward answer. How 'free' is this going to be? F2P means a lot of things. So, in simple terms, explain the concept of f2p, here.

It just seems to me that it's little more than a trial. You make a character, and play, but you have to pay to unlock the most important areas of the game and to unlock certain classes, and can only get to a certain level. That sounds like a trial, to me.

I can see your point.

Within the F2P you can earn coins by doing specific things. You can also earn CS items from quests. I have discovered level unlocks, twice. I have heard, within the game, you can also unlock adventure packs.

Also, things do unlock with favor. Such as the 32 point build that someone mentioned.

You gain favor by doing the quest within the game.

Honestly, I think the F2P is worth it.

on my account (vip inactive) I started out with no points. I was able to unlock my next levels (copper signet?) and purchased favored soul within reaching lvl 4.

I remember on my old deleted thief,I got past the beginning island and left on the boat. The first quest I tried was from some guy standing around the docks asking me to go into a crypt or something and kill the spiders in there because He's afraid of them.He said not to damage the...stone coffin things.Thing is,once I went in,the quest list said to clear out all the wings and that I would fail if I broke less than 10 coffins.I broke 10,and failed it.It wouldn't even check off all the wings in there I cleared.I haven't gotten back there with my new characters yet though.I haven't been feeling like I want to play many games lately again... :\

Yeah, beginner island has changed. I do remember what you are talking about.

A lot of the map has changed. Were you around for the destruction of the marketplace bazaar? If not, check this thread out http://www.onrpg.com/boards/83006.html (DDo: The birthday event turns grim) got some nice screenies of it. After that things began to change in game.

Yeh the signets are kind of a pain but I found mine in a lvl 3 quest with some other people....it's one of the big open area ones...not kobold assault but something similar and a bit higher level lol anyhow we zoomed through it since they were a bit higher than me and I grabbed a signet so now I'm level 3 out of 8 so I guess you can just do that quest over and over real quick to unlock all the levels?

So...you earn CS points and unlock content from simply playing? That sounds like part of the game, rather than any f2p model. There's no 'premium' account where everything is unlocked and ready to do, and have access to all areas?

It just sounds like you play, but if you want access to everything and don't want to be left behind, you have to pay. That's not f2p, that's a trial.

There is a VIP option in the game. VIP is a suscription model that allows you everything unlocked, 10 characters slot, and 500 cons per month.

But the bold part... I see you wont look at this with another POV.

What they give you something that can be for dedicated players, low budget players, and the casual gamer. Honestly, its an ideal package for any type of gamer.

That's what VIP is, they get access to everything as well as some CS points every month for the other stuff.

Uh your going back and forth here, you CAN unlock EVERYTHING that vip's get simply by spending more time doing quests to get favor/the cash shop points/signets. It is not a trial, you are not hindered in any way besides having to do more quests to get what you want.

They have to make money, if you feel this is a trial then you seriously need to go play a p2p game's trial then come back in a month and try the f2p for this game, it is definitely not the same thing.

Thanks, that answered my question.

*rubs hands together*

Now, when does it start?
