question is Simon what do u use to create the peices, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computer composing....

Hehe, glad you liked 'em.
There's some more random stuff at my NG audio page if you want a few more downloads. I'm only 15 which would explain the whole, y'know, not having a professional studio thing. In short, I use NoteWorthy Composer (www.noteworthycomposer.com) to write out the score, Garritan's Personal Orchestra (www.garritan.com) for instrument sound fonts, and then Audacity (eh, look it up on google...) to export as MP3. |

how exactly does a instroment font thing work, is their like a plugin that exports the sound or do i have to go back note by note to assemble it by taking bits and peices from hundreds of thousands of sound files?

It's quite simple, you load up the instrument patch and you assign the staff the patch you want. Anything played on the staff within the range of the instrument patch will be played back at command.
So, as you said, a plugin that exports the sound. If it were anything more complicated, I'd probably give up (owing to my extremely laziness concerning computer affairs). ![]() |

Hey, I am wanting to join a team - I have just started to learn C++ so I cannot offer you much, but my reasons for joining are purely to learn from you and your team. I want to get involved and I think I am growing a big interest into programming. Man, it is hard at the start though isnt it.
Do you have an email so we can possibly talk? Please let me join, I want to get inolved with something. Nath~ |

I'm interested in your project. I am very fluent in C/C++. I also have skills in graphics design, and website development (HTML/CSS, Java/JavaScript, CGI via Perl and PHP, and limited experience with SQL). I'm also a huge RPG fan.
My skills in more detail: Fluent with the C Standard Library and C++ Standard Template Library (STL) Windows API : Windowing, Dialogs, Key/Mouse Input, GDI, GDI+, Winsock 2 (TCP/IP networking), Threads, File I/O, etc. 3D Graphics API : Direct3D, OpenGL 3D Sound API : DirectSound, OpenAL Last edited by Sman; 05-29-2006 at 10:19 PM. |

If Sman is in (he seems to know what he's doing), I'll come too. (If I'm accepted) I'll most likely learn alot of stuff if I help with this project.
I'm fluent in C(++), and I know the Win32 API, SDL API, and am becoming fluent in the OpenGL API (though quaternions are confusing the hell out of me). Hell, even if I just write the tools, at least I can have a look at the code. So... yeah. I'll help, in whatever way I can. |
