Crumbly, but Good

Okay. So, about this contest; described here for those of you who don't know, I'm thinking it's close to time to getting this to start up. So before I post things everywhere, I'd like to get a vote going about certain aspects of the competition, so I don't just decide it all
![]() Okay, first off, here's a summary of what the competition might look like:
Prizes for the winner may be one or more of the following: Darkhell's Model Pack (see other thread, page 2), Custom User Title (as long as it's nothing ridiculously vulgar), or hosting on onRPG for any future game development project you might undertake (somewhat talked about this in a general sense with admin, not sure if this will actually happen) Now, I want to know what you guys want the format of the contest will be. There were a few ideas thrown out, so I'll post them here. If I've missed yours, please post and I'll add it! Development Teams People submit design documents that describe a relatively simple 2D game, and those that pass a litmus test (i.e. are actually realistic and have some hope of being completed) are posted in a public poll. Everyone reads the different design docs, or a summary of them, and then votes on their favorite. Then, a random assortment of teams develop the most popular choice, and submit their builds. Full Teams People submit design documents that describe a relatively simple 2D game, and those that pass a litmus test (i.e. are actually realistic and have some hope of being completed). Once they're approved, the same team goes ahead and makes their own game based on that design document. One Document People submit design documents to me, and I judge which one'd work best; post it, and then random teams make a project based on it. Design documents will be mostly general guidelines, nothing too specific, and extra features should be welcome. Judging will be done by popular vote; run-off style. (I.E. things are voted upon for a week, then the top two choices get pitted against each other, in another poll), and should be based on a combination of graphics, interesting gameplay and general style. So? What'dyou think? If you don't like any of the rules so far; post and tell me so! Also, vote!

This is not MO, or MMO right?
By 'One Document', do you mean Proposal Document, or Design Document? The level of details is much different. Umm... Who will be the 'Development Team' ? Since it seems we don't have enough 'makers' here.

![]() for number 3: Oh trust me, I'm sure I can get a few people here to join. Nobody passes up a chance to advertise their game design skills to hype their next project up. On another note: I need some suggestions for what to add next to my model pack. Currently I have- 2 Footstools 1 Chair 1 Mace 1 Bow 1 Gravestone 1 Pillar (Comic-book style) I'm already making plans to add 2 more mace styles, 1-2 more bows, another chair, 1 table, and 2 more pillar styles (1 for a post-apocolyptic theme, 1 for a Dark Ages theme) I need more recommendations, anything simple and static is fine...I'm not wasting 12 hours of my life to model, rig, texture, and animate a character for you, cause if I did that my perfectionist attitude would make me want to make a character pack on the side...so you'd be waiting another three months so Furniture, Props, Buildings, weapons, that kind of stuff.Important Note: All of these models are in the ever popular Wavefront (.obj) format. I made them like this because it is importable by almost any modelling software (including 3ds, maya, and blender) and supported by almost any game engine, easily editable and easily implemented. Make sure you keep the .obj with its respective .mtl file though, or you'll end up with an untextured model :P

2. Design document; there's a small description in the post. 3. Nono, that's the whole point. We're going to train some people, or at least, help people get started. Using stuff like SDL, or Game Maker; people can learn how to make a simple game in a few months.

Awww, no one else is voting? See? Yet another sign that we need something like this contest.
![]() Okay, it looks like it's tied between the last two options. I'll think about this, and get back to you guys. EDIT: Oh, I talked with admin; Custom User Title is doable as a prize.
