Alright here are some of the specs
Motherboard : ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard Graphic Card : GeForce GTX 295 Processor: Intel i7 Processor (Base) Hard Disk Space: 1 Terrabyte and all the other latest shit.. ok well anyways, im having a LOT of trouble on deciding to make this or not.. i hear many complaints about the motherboard ( ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard) like it overheats and breaks down.. but the intel i7 is ONLY suitable for this motherboard atm.. can any1 help me if i should get this motherboard or does any1 kno a solution to getting the problem of the motherboard overheating fixed? (Note: Its the motherboard itself, within the motherboard that overheats.. no dont say liquid cooling system cuz that doesnt work)

You can always do what someone else did, get a cheap desk fan and have it blow on the motherboard. Or you can get little fans and replace the passive heatsink with a fan.

I'm lost here...
You mean there are no other motherboards that support the i7 or what?

But the i7 probably won't last 5 years, maybe 3-4.5 years. Tech is advancing pretty dam fast, quads were released like 3 years ago for desktops, and last year it was released for laptops. Also, on recent PC news, desktops probably won't last much longer either. Apparently Intel is focusing most of their resources on laptops, and motherboard makers have to fill orders on what is most profitable, which is laptops apparently now.

No, laptops at best are still one generation behind in gaming power. If you upgrade every 2 years, that's different. But you said your parents are wanting your PC to last 5 years.
