Well I'm planning to build a comp, but I'm mostly concerned about the motherboard xD
I was thinking of getting this: Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA780GM-UD2H - moederbord - micro ATX - AMD 780G Processor AMD Phenom II X4 920 Ram Corsair Dominator TWIN2X PC8500 4GB DDR2Kit w/2x 2GB XMS2-8500 dimm's, CL5-5-5-15, 1066MHz, E.P.P, DHX, with FAN Power supply Corsair Powersupply 650W Black, ATX/EPS,120mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI Hard disk Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA2 graphics card Club3D Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E,Overclocked Edition, DVI/VGA, HDCP, HDMI What more should I get or change? I thought about maybe changing the motherboard for a: Asus P5QC, P45, Socket-775, DDR2/3,ATX, GbLAN, Firewire, PCI-Ex(2.0)16. I don't really know xD I build my broke down comp with the ex of my older sister, wich is.... impossible now ![]() [EDIT] My first choice motherboard has a build in Ati Radeon HD 3200, so is it possible to just use my current videocard with it? ATI RADEON 9800 128mb (it sux, I know.... ). Last edited by Darksin; 08-18-2009 at 11:31 AM. |

Ditch the q8200, get a q9550.
LGA775 is dieing, in fact, it's dead when the i5 releases which could be this month even, so you might want to get the best perfomance you can get on this "old" rig.

What SnOwBunZz said, get the q9550.
Where do you live? I wonder if there is microcenter in your area, then you can pick this up for $170 http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...pg_intel_q9550 |

Well I live in the netherlands xD
but the comp isn't completely for playing games to be honest. Mostly to set up Fruityloops and whatsoever, I just want to use it to play FFXIV next year. I think this would actually do it? With what I have now it would cost €755,50 and my budget is €800,- , That is with a graphics card ofcourse! I don't know if the thing that comes with the motherboard is good (well it's probably bad xD). |

I really need to stop scanreading.
![]() Intel CPUs won't fit into AMD sockets and AMD ones won't fit in Intel ones. So if you want the q8200, get the asus one. If you want the phenom x2 920, get the gigabyte one. Edit: seems like you edited. It will fit. ![]() WTB> book "how to read". Edit2: clarified post.

Budget? Usage, and how long do you plan to keep the computer. Also, resolution for the monitor and size of the monitor would be helpful to optimize your build.
