I'm looking to get a laptop for school.
What brand do you recommend? (No apples)
My budget is around $500.

Alienware, ibuyPower, Cyberpower, but sadly non of them fits your budget...But then again, I'm a gamer, and the only reason why I would get a laptop is to game on the go...

I don't need it for gaming, that's what my desktop is for.
I just need it to take to class.

Ahh. What about an Acer netbook? I heard it have a long battery life for it's size.

Toshiba is one of the best laptop maker... HP is good too, but usually their laptop is heavier for some reason

Acer, Gateway is pretty much cheap, but has some quality...

Dell is not bad... I really have no experience with their products

Sony is definitely more expensive (Vaio), for no apparent reason

My favourite: Toshiba or Gateway

Sony's laptops are more expensive because it's slimmer. Most of their laptops are for people on the go a lot more.

Asus is my favourite when it comes to laptop, and I absolutely despise HP or Sony ones (the ones I've had experience from anyways).
